Respected colleagues,

As you are well aware, we are in the midst of a long overdue cultural shift regarding sexual harassment
and sexual assault. Across the country, we have seen many brave survivors step forward, tell their stories,
and be believed. The repercussions of these discussions have been felt in many industries and walks of
life, perhaps most strikingly in legislatures and political campaigns. It is our collective duty to ensure that
we perform our due diligence on this issue leading up to the November 2018 elections. We simply cannot
afford to lose any election because we failed to endorse the best Democrat for the office.

As members of the California Democratic Party State Central Committee, we will soon be asked to vote
to endorse your respective campaigns. We trust that you understand that allegations of sexual assault or
harassment revealed after the endorsement process will leave the Party handicapped in crucial battles to
retain control of the California Legislature and win control of Congress. Therefore, it is imperative that
any such information be disclosed well in advance of pre-endorsement voting. We respectfully request
that you respond to the following questions by email no later than January 8, 2018:

1. Are you, your employees or your subordinates currently being investigated by any organization
regarding allegations of sexual assault or sexual harassment?
2. Have you, your employees or your subordinates ever been investigated by any organization
regarding allegations of sexual assault or sexual harassment?
3. Have claims of sexual assault or sexual harassment made against you been verified (found likely
to be true) by any organization, person or entity?
4. Have you ever been arrested or prosecuted for sexual assault or sexual harassment?
5. Have you, your agents, your employer, any governmental or legislative entity, any third
party, any organization, or any political entity on your behalf, settled, disbursed funds or provided
a benefit, in order to settle, or otherwise bring to an end, claims of sexual assault or sexual
harassment made against you or your subordinates?
6. Will you vote for and/or support enactment of AB-403, the California Legislative Employee
Whistleblower Protection Act?

If your answers to Questions 1 through 5 are anything other than an unqualified ‘no’, we encourage you
to provide an explanation that does not identify the victim nor reveal details that are likely to lead to the
victim’s identification. Please respond by email to cdpdelegatesfortruth@gmail.com by January 8,
2018. This information will be circulated to all those with votes in pre-endorsement voting (Jan. 27) and
endorsement voting (Feb. 24).

Sincerely,
California Democratic Party State Central Committee Members
