Guidelines to make an impressive resume:
1. Purpose or Objective is not needed. Please avoid that. (preferred)
2. Keep the font shape as 'Garamond' and size as 10.5 or 11 for all the text except your NAME which
has to be in greater than 11, CAPS &Bold (preferred)
3. Write only one mobile number which you intend to keep functional for long time. Do not write any other
landline or multiple mobile numbers.
4. The email id should be professional. Funky email ids like loveu@ or scorpion27@ or dollneha@ and
complicated email ids with dots or under scores or too many numbers should be avoided. 
5. Keep all the points precise without losing any essential information. Remember the person who shortlists
resumes spends around 10-15 seconds on each resume.
6. Do not write CV/RESUME on top of it. The interviewer or the person who shortlists knows it is a
resume.
7. Do not write too personal information like father's name/mother's name / corresponding address etc. If
you get selected hiring team will give you a big Form for filling all this (including your bank info) 
8. You can highlight upto 10% of the words by making them bold but italics & underlining must be avoided.
9. Keep the resume limited to one page. (preferred)
10. The font type & bullet type must be exactly the same throughout the page.
11. Space between the bullet and the first letter of the sentence must be minimal.
12. Write either one or a maximum of two interests not more. Interests like 'sleeping or net surfing' should be
avoided.
13. You can remove/edit few sections like, section for POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY can be
merged with Extra Curricular Activities. Project and Internship sections can be merged together.
You can also mention an additional section of Areas of interest/Additional courses taken. Also you
can change the sequence of the sections according to the company. Section for Scholastic
achievements can also be changed accordingly.
14. Use exactly the same format for mentioning dates of various activities. Generally exact date is not needed,
you can use Month and year in the format, Jan'2012 or Mar'2010 i.e. Mon'YYYY or Jul to Sep-2012
15. Space between the lines must be exactly the same in the whole resume.
16. Write the bullet points in opposite chronological order.
17. Use some variety of words e.g. if you start 5 bullet points with the word 'Participated'; the points do not
impress the reader. Instead you can use, Won / Coordinated / Involved in / Member of core team /
Organized / Participated / Represented etc
18. Never use words like 'etc' in the resume and avoid difficult words like Intermediate / Matriculations
instead write XII Std / X Std. Never use 'th' with roman numbers i.e. Xth is wrong.
19. Grammatical or spelling mistakes can prove fatal.
20. Review it critically and get it reviewed by experts (alumni with at least 3 -4 years of experience is the best
persons). Try to find out alumni who have done MBA and/or are in HR profiles as they have experience of
selecting resumes / preparing various reports etc instead of alumni who merely have technical experience
of coding etc.
21. Take a print on a good quality paper but should not be colored or very stylish.
22. Remember to remove this page of guidelines from your resume, once are done. 
23. Keep in mind this is only a representative format of resume. You can make changes in it according
to your profile, but make sure that you keep the upper format of personal information and the
table for educational qualifications same.

Wish you all the best in your endeavors to find an amazing job! ENJOY 
