PROPERTIES OF MATTER

1. MASS: It is the amount of matter in an object

a. Measure: gr, Kg

b. Use: scales

2. VOLUME: It is the space an object occupies

a. Cube = height * length * width

b. Irregular: the water it displaces

c. Measure: l, ml

3. Density = mass / Volume = Kg/l = g/ml

TYPES

1.- Reversible, undone, reversed = Physical changes

2.- irreversible, permanent = chemical changes

1.- Pure substance.- matter consists of only one compound

2.- mixture.- matter is made up of two or more substances.

- homogeneous: we can´t see different ingredients. We can

separate them

- heterogeneous: we can see different ingredients. We can separate

them too
