Re: Request for Independent Investigation

Dear Acting Chair Rozen and Executive Director Agata,

I am requesting an independent investigation by the New York Slate Joint Commission on Public Ethics
into a recent allegation made against me by a former staffer. On January 10, 2018, an article in the
Huffington Post by reporter Sebastian Murdock slated that on the night of March 31,2015, I forcibly kissed
a former staffer of the Independent Democratic Conference, Erica Vladimir. This alleged incident did not
happen. period.

Prior to publication of the article. I received an email dated Januan 4. 2018 from Mr. Murdock requesting
comment regarding this allegation and retained legal counsel to conduct a preliminarv investigation into
the matter. My attorney conducted a series of interviews with current and former staffers present at the time
of the alleged incident, none of whom observed the complained of conduct. These interviews and others
showed that I have never engaged in such conduct and have been a proponent and advocate of fair and
equal treatment for women, in and outside of the workplace.

I also note that no formal complaint was ever filed at the time of the alleged incident or since the aLlegation
was made public.

Your immediate attention and assistance with this investigation is requested and I am prepared to fully
cooperate with your inquiry in an effort to resolve this allegation made against me.
