Drugs has been considered as high in demand in the market as considered in the world

industry – Matthew S. Jenner. Every country has been looking for a solution to stop the

consumption, production and distribution like marijuana and cocaine. United States made

cocaine and marijuana illegal officially in 1914 and 1937 and because of its prohibition a

black market for drugs were made and the demand for drugs were on high. According to

the United States Annual World Drug Report, the United States consumes about twenty-

five times more cocaine than Columbia, even though Columbia produces about fifty

percent of the world’s production of cocaine. So, other countries are part of the process in

the market of drugs whether it is consumption, production or distribution. Globally, drugs

are in the business market ever since and to add drugs also occurred in alcohol, gambling

and prostitution. Columbia has been the apple of the eye over the past forty years since

President Richard Milhous Nixon term on 1969-1974 declared war on drugs. Columbia has

been leading drug trades in many various way of distribution in land, sea or air transport

and ninety percent of all cocaine that is imported into the United States passes through

Mexico using a massive faction of people to distribute cocaine. Since President Nixon and

the world declared war on drugs fifty years ago different drug cartels were formed to such

as Medillin and Cali cartel and the most famous who runs most of the drugs business in

Columbia is Pablo Escobar. Cartels in Columbia were formed to continuously operate their

drug business because various sectors and government are on their tail to put an end to

stop their drug business so the cartels were formed and violent acts were made who tries

to cease their drug operation including killing government officials. Pablo as one of the

notorious drug kingpin died (December 2, 1993) in the hands of Columbian police ending

his reign in drug business. Mexico started making names to drug business to continue

their Columbian predecessor way of making money by drugs, making their own infamous

cartels Mexico. In between 2006-2009 an estimated 13,000 drug trafficking-related

murders were committed in Mexico. Looking in other nation Asia was also pested by illicit

drug business forming a group like Golden Triangle and Golden Crescent to make a name

in drug business. In 1982, President Ronald Reagan formed a foreign policy to stop drug

related business “Vigorouly [sought] to interdict and eradicate illegal drugs, wherever

cultivated, processed, and transported.” Different countries joined its notion to put a stop to

drugs.

Today, drugs is as substantial as ever after a fifty years of war on drugs. Many scholars

and different sectors branding it as epic failure.

A documentary movie involving Pablo Escobar was made entitled “American Made” it was

initially released on August 25, 2017. It is a true story event that was performed by the

a drug dealer or transporter for the Medillin cartel and also became an informant for Drug

Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Central Intelligence Agency to finally put a stop to

the Meddelin Cartel and Pablo Escobar. Those operation to cease Pablo Escobar almost

brought down Reagan White House. That was how eager the United States wants Pablo

Escobar to be put down.

Recently, a series of episodes also involving powerful and notorious drug lords that
