HOW TO DO THE ASSIGNMENT

1. Access the article above

a. Download the search guide from Topic 3 folder to access the Library
portal. Read the guide and start searching.

b. In the SEARCH LIBRARY box, you need to type GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP AND
BULLARD to easily locate the article. Click the button Find, to search.

c. Scroll the list of records and you will find the said article. Click on the HTML Full
Text to open the article. You may download the file later or print.

d. The article will give you general information about Global Citizenship. READ the
article.

2. Research the subject in the Digital Library; and

The question asked you this: Read the article on Global Citizenship and provide
your opinion on the subject of Global Citizenship. Do you agree with the statement
above? Support your opinion with your own research and observations.

After reading the article written by Bullard, you need to find few more
articles/books to be able to answer the question.

If you search Global Citizenship in the Library portal, you will find more resources
on it. Find few good ones. The more you read, the better your understanding is
on the subject and the better your answer will be.

(NOTE: To know how to make notes from the articles you read, refer to Topic 7. To
know how to select the best article, please read Topic 4).

3. Write your report

After gathering and reading all the resources, you need to write your
answers. Any assignment will have a structure consists of Introduction, Body and
Conclusion.

Introduction will have:

a. The definition of the topic, in this case, please define what Global Citizenship is
all about. Get the definition from any dictionary or encyclopedia.

b. The question asked if you agree/disagree. So please state your opinion.

c. Introduction is always 1/4 of the whole number of words in an assignment.


Sometimes it is a bit longer than the Conclusion but never same or longer than the
Body/Content.

Body/Content will have the answers to the question:

a. After gathering all the information, you need to give some points to support
your opinion (agree or disagree).
b. Provide also examples.

c. As I mentioned before, the more you read, the better you understand the issue
of Global Citizenship. However, you may find so many points but only select the
strong ones. Ones that are major and crucial to be mentioned/highlighted.

Conclusion:

A conclusion is a summary of whatever you have explained in the


Body/Content. Put all those points in a much shorter and simpler sentences to
reinstate your opinion. This paragraph should not be that long, if the Introduction
is 1/4 of the text or a bit more; Body/Content is 2/4; Conclusion should be 1/4.

Last part of the assignment is to provide the Reference list. Please refer to Topic 5
for the APA Citation style. You may also need to refer to this Topic to know how to
do In-Text citation.
