1.0 SCOPE:

To carry out inspection and ensure to specified requirements at field during plant maintenance
activities.

2.0 PURPOSE:

The purpose of this procedure is to check & ensure the requirements stipulated in drawings, data sheets,
QAP & standards.

3.0 APPLICABLE CODE:

i. Code applicability based on equipment & materials requirements.

4.0 PERSONNEL

Personnel performing the inspection shall be familiar with this procedure, code requirements,
drawings, data sheets & shall be experienced in performing inspections and only trained personnel are
permitted

5.0 EQUIPMENT:

i. Gauges,
ii. Measuring instruments,
iii. Testing skids etc.

6.0 CALIBRATION:

Calibration of measuring instruments, gauges etc. shall be ensured by the manufacturer and valid
calibration certificates shall be available during inspections.

7.0 RESPONSIBILITY FOR IMPLEMENTATION:

QA&I -responsible for implementation of this procedure.

8.0 PROCEDURE:

QA&I will receive the purchase orders from P&C. Based on the equipment package, the corresponding field
Quality Plan or approved QAP of OEM/service provider shall be followed for all inspection requirements.

For inspection which are being taken up directly by QA&I Engineer or O&M Engineer, inspection report will
be generated as per applicable format & any comments over the inspection will be communicated to the
end user for further action. For items which are accepted without any comments, clearance will be issued
thro’ viable communication.

QA& I shall retain the inspection reports, documentation pertaining to inspection of item/equipments.

10.0 DOCUMENTATION:

FQP shall be in the prescribed format TPCIL-QP-016-F-23 as attached.

Inspection Report in the prescribed format shall be as applicable.
Quality assurance plan in the prescribed format TPCIL-QP-016-F-020 as attached.

11.0 SAFETY:

 Wear necessary PPE’s during inspection under confined space, height workings etc.,
 Only authorized personnel shall be permitted near the test zone.
 Ensure sufficient lighting illumination within the inspection & testing zone.
 For inspection of confined spaces, rescue personal shall be stationed for quick removal in case of any
emergency.
 Safe scaffolding/Ladder & rigid platform shall be made available for access and egress.
