The Mountain Life Companies Wins 2017 Sustainability Award

Real estate development, investment and management firm, The Mountain Life Companies honored
with the prestigious 2017 Sustainability Award.

Breckenridge, CO, January 20, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Mountain Life Companies was recently honored
with the prestigious 2017 Sustainability Award for their recently completed ultra-green, multifamily real
estate development called Epic On French situated in the downtown historic district of Breckenridge,
Colorado.

The award was presented by High Country Conservation Center, a regional social-benefit non-profit
organization, during the Summit County Builders Association's annual gala and awards dinner for the
2017 Summit County Parade of Homes. This award signifies that their newest property development Epic
On French is the most energy-efficient and sustainable of all new homes presented in this year's showcase
of the latest in new construction in the high country.

This project, led by the Company's real estate development division Mountain Life Development Group
along with globally-renowned sustainability consulting firm Verdigris Group, is also slated to achieve the
esteemed LEED Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council as well as an astonishing
5-star plus energy rating certification under the EPA's Energy Star for Homes Program and has achieved
the highest score ever accomplished under the Summit County Sustainable Building Code, setting the
new standard in mountain-modern luxury real estate.

Upon accepting the award Mr. Garratt Hasenstab, President of The Mountain Life Companies stated, "We
are so humbled by the honor and will continue raising the bar through our company's leadership in
sustainability and corporate social responsibility. These new Epic Homes will shine as a beacon of what
purposeful, sustainable design and development can achieve and we're proud to be realizing our lofty
goals on this great new Breckenridge development.”

These new homes are not only designed and built with energy efficiency in mind. All facets of the
development were analyzed through various "lenses of sustainability" such as site sustainability, material
and resource use, water efficiency, indoor occupant health, and the list goes on, but the way they achieve
even more advanced levels of sustainability is through their implementation of “intuitive, smart home
technologies.” With the integration of technologies throughout the homes that operate quietly in the
background, the homes actually learn about their occupants and virtually assist them in establishing better
resource consumption practices, greater levels of home comfort and higher levels of occupant safety.

Hasenstab said, "We are dedicated to designing and constructing all of our property developments to the
highest standard of sustainability and resource efficiency and we take our mission very seriously. This
project is the culmination of the best practices that we have established through our work in smart,
sustainable real estate development over years of research, innovation and implementation in our
industry."

The term "Intuitive smart home technologies" refers to the fact that all of the individual tech devices
communicate with each other. For example, the Neurio Home Intelligence system works with the Nest
learning thermostats to develop best practices of their own based on the occupants' schedules and comfort
preferences. Similarly, the Nest Protect smoke and CO detectors communicate consistently with the
Rachio smart irrigation system, alerting it to turn on exterior irrigation systems if smoke is detected inside
for additional fire-mitigation assistance. The MyQ enabled smart garage door senses that you've pulled
into your driveway thus notifies other systems in the home such as lighting or entertainment that you have
arrived back home so by the time you open your door your preferred lighting and music might be set just
how you like.

Haven Smart Home Solutions, another company under The Mountain Life brands states that “The
interconnected system of smart technologies is not unlike a faithful family dog, working diligently when
you're home or away to make its people happier, safer and more comfortable.”

Hasenstab continued, “Best kitchen design is great, and best curb-appeal is lovely as well, but it's our
opinion that the best sustainability award is truly the greatest honor, as it represents the incredible level of
care we have taken in the design and development of this project, resulting in new, high-performance
homes that are future-proof with ultra-low operating costs, very easy to maintain, and above all they are
among the most healthy residential indoor-environments in our nation. Bottom-line, sustainability
represents peace of mind for the families that live in these homes, and that's priceless.”
