Re: The 1994 Heisman Trophy Award Presented to Rashaan Salaam (Salaam
LOA)
This is the original Heisman Trophy that was presented to University of Colorado
running back Rashaan Salaam following his 1994 season where he amassed a
school-record 2,055 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns. The trophy weighs
approximately 43 lbs.; it measures roughly 19” tall x 17 3/8” x 10 3/8”. The
trophy features the casted bronze image of Ed Smith in the classic “Heisman”
pose. The figure sits atop a black wooden base with a brass plaque that reads,
“THE HEISMAN MEMORIAL TROPHY IS PRESENTED BY DOWNTOWN
ATHLETIC CLUB OF NEW YORK CITY TO RASHAAN SALAAM
UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO AS THE OUTSTANDING COLLEGE
FOOTBALL PLAYER IN THE UNITED STATES FOR 1994”. Accompanied by
a detailed letter of provenance from Rashaan Salaam that states it is the original
trophy that he received and that no duplicates were ever ordered by him.
