This project aims to construct a 105 km access controlled high speed six-lane (expandable upto 8 in future) Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway, of which 86.4 km passes through towns like Khekara, Ghaziabad and Greater Noida in UP Sub-region. Land acquisition for the project has been completed and the RFPs for the project have been invited. It will form a third Ring Road around Delhi along with Western Peripheral Expressway Kundli- Manesar- Palwal (KMP) Expressway to decongest Delhi, Ghaziabad, etc from traffic entering and bypassing the city through National Highways. The complete peripheral road including Western Peripheral Expressway will connect following radial highways: NH-1, 2, 8, 10, 24, 58, 91, SH-57, Yamuna expressway, proposed Ganga expressway among others.
The details of this project are mentioned below:
i. Construction cost - 1612.6 crores ii. Land acquisition - 677.4 crores iii. Total project cost - 2290 crores
This project will be implemented by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Presently, the land acquisition is in progress.
2. Ghaziabad- Meerut Expressway (Meerut – Dasna)
This NHDP project aims to construct a 65 km access controlled high speed expressway. It will help to relieve the traffic from the road connecting Ghaziabad and Meerut. This Expressway has beenproposed as a 100m-wide ROW from Dasna to Meerut city Bypass. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2014. The preparation of Detailed Project Report is in progress.
