Hi: I haven't received any reply to my January 5 & 12 inquiries (copied below). If I don't hear from
anyone before this weekend, my understanding will be that the Mail doesn't intend to respond.
FYI, since I sent that to you, the story was picked up by reporter Sydney Smith at media
watchdog IMediaEthics http://tinyurl.com/y9b3xchj and As it Happens, the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation's radio news magazine http://tinyurl.com/y9h9xpgr

Hi Sean,
If this isn't your bailiwick, would you please direct me to the proper staffer? (I'm copying
corrections since this may pertain to their desk.)
Via my blog two days ago I reported this item http://tinyurl.com/ya4jgz9r about how a
story published [on January 2] day by Mail Online, Ed Byrne saves choking fan’s life by
reporter Alexander Matthews, had been deleted/disappeared from the company's website.
Yesterday my story was picked up by John Reynolds at the Press Gazette, headlined as
Mail Online and Evening Standard pull 'completely untrue' stories about Ed Byrne
saving audience member's life with Heimlich manoeuvre http://tinyurl.com/yapf3xrn
For a follow up item I'm blogging, I've sent some polite questions via Twitter to Mr.
Matthews, but I haven't received any reply, hence this outreach.
Sincere thanks for your time/consideration and I look forward to receiving answers to my
questions. If someone can get back to me by end of the day this Tuesday, 9 January, that
would be great. If you need more time, please advise and I'll do my best to accommodate.
Cheers, Peter
