Structural foam performs better than metal in many
ways: it won’t dent; it is non-conductive and doesn’t
corrode. Structural foam resists fatigue far better than
metal. It requires no painting, is quieter than metal,
and gives us greater design flexibility.

The ability to lock both the cabinets and the drawers
ensures that your tools are safe, even if you need to
leave the job before it is completed. The adjustable
shelf,† which can accommodate almost any tool,
allows greater flexibility.

RUBBERMAID ADVANTAGE:
STRUCTURAL FOAM
Structural Foam is a method of producing
plastic that introduces gas into the molding
process. The resulting material has a swirled
appearance, and if you cut into a Structural
Foam product, you should be able to see
tiny cells, or gas pockets. This fine network
of cells, created by the gas displacing the
plastic, yields a strong, lighter product.
10 –20% LIGHTER
The Structural Foam molding process
produces a piece that is 10% – 20% lighter
compared to traditional rotational-molded
plastics with equivalent wall thickness. The
lighter Structural foam is just as strong as
rotational-molded plastic, but does not need
metal frames for reinforcement.
NOT ALL STRUCTURAL
FOAM IS CREATED EQUAL
When creating Structural Foam, gas can be
introduced to the mold in multiple ways; the
right technique depends on product size,
complexity and other factors. There is an
art to creating the right cell structure for a
given product, and Rubbermaid Commercial
Products has perfected techniques that
consistently produce strong and durable
results.
