TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
My intention is to create a learning environment that will empower the self-esteem and capacity of every
student. I have based my practice upon deep listening, and understanding of students’ identities and needs. I
believe that learning occurs most effectively when collaboration and life-long learning are a common goal,
and people are motivated to work together. Through my time as a mentor and competitor as a provincial
level gymnast, I developed a lifestyle that emphasizes mental and physical health, as well as nutrition. I
believe in a healthy school community that provides and improves the quality of living, learning, and
working for all students, staff and teachers within the school. Finally, I strive to develop the type of
energizing and creative classroom environment that I want my daughter to attend.
