Correction Rules
‫ یا‬He, she, it ‫( کے بعد فعل کی پہلی فارم لگائیں اور‬Subject) ‫ اگر فقرے میں مندرجہ ذیل الفاظ آئیں تو فاعل‬.1
“Daily, every day, ‫ کا اضافہ کریں‬es ‫ یا‬s ‫واحد اسم کے فاعل ہونے کی صورت میں پہلی فارم کے ساتھ‬
always, usually, generally and some fact or habit etc.”
i. We daily (take) breakfast early in the morning.
ii. He (go) to college every day.
iii. In summer, she always (visit) her sister in Murree.
iv. A true Muslim always (speak) the truth.
v. They usually (not go) to office on foot.
vi. Intelligent students generally (work) hard.
vii. Sajid never (move) in bad company.
viii. Amina (take) tea every morning?
ix. The sun (rise) in the east?
x. The moon (shine) in the sky.
‫ اگر فقرے میں مندرجہ ذیل الفاظ آئیں‬.2
“Now, at present or sense of a continuous tense”
‫ اور پھر پہلی فارم کے‬is, are, am ‫( کے بعد‬Subject ) ‫ بنائیں یعنی فاعل‬Present Continuous Tense ‫ تو‬.3
‫ لگائیں۔‬ing ‫ساتھ‬
i. Umair (listen) the story from his uncle now.
ii. I (write) correction rules at present.
iii. Mr. Munir (learning) English at present.
iv. The child continuously (cry).

‫ اور پھر فعل کی تیسری فارم لگائیں‬have ‫ یا‬has ‫( کے بعد‬Subject) ‫ یعنی فاعل‬Present Perfect Tense ‫تو‬
i. He already (passed) the examination.
ii. The train (arrive) just now.
iii. We already (avail) ourselves of the opportunity.
iv. They not yet (finish) their course.
v. I not (write) application yet.
vi. Umar already (post) the letter.
vii. The news of his accident just (come).
viii. We not yet (read) this novel.
ix. I not (see) you since Friday.
x. He (be) teacher in this school for three years.
Present Perfect Continuous Tense ً ‫ کا استعمال ہو وہ عموما‬since ‫ اور‬for ‫ انگلش کے وہ فقرات جن میں‬.5
‫ اور فعل کی پہلی فارم کے ساتھ‬have been ‫ یا‬has been ‫سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں۔ایسے فقرات میں فاعل کے بعد‬
‫ کا اضافہ کرتے ہیں‬ing
Use of ‘Since’
‫ کے ساتھ‬fixed time
‫ ہفتے کے دنوں کے ساتھ‬
since Saturday, since Sunday, since Monday etc,
‫ دن کے مختلف حصوں کے ساتھ‬
since morning, since noon, since evening, since 2 O’ clock, since 5 A.M., since 8 P.M. etc.
‫ سال کے مہینوں کے ساتھ‬
since June, since September, since October etc.
‫ سن وغیرہ کے ساتھ‬
With years of the century i.e. since 2001, since 1947, since 571 A.D. etc.

‫" بہت سے دنوں سے" وغیرہ الفاظ پائے‬ ‫ "کئی" یا‬،‫کے ساتھ۔ جب فقرے میں گنتی پائی جائے‬period of time
‫جائیں۔‬
 For four hours, for fifty days, for ten years, for six months for two hours etc.
 For many days, for several months etc.
i. The child (play) since morning.
ii. I (write) an essay for half an hour.
iii. The radio (broadcast) news for four minutes.
iv. The girls (decorate) homes since noon.
v. It (rain) since four o’ clock.
vi. My mother tells me that the phone bell (ring) for two minutes.
vii. The players (play) for several hours.
viii. It (hail) for several minutes.
ix. The tenant (live) in this house since 2005.
x. The train (whistle) for many minutes.
‫ اگر فقرے میں مندرجہ ذیل الفاظ آئیں‬.6
“Yesterday, ago, previous day, last week, last year etc”
‫ استعمال ہو گا یعنی فاعل کے بعد فعل کی دوسری فارم‬Past Tense ‫یا گزرے ہوئے زمانہ ہونے کا احساس ہو تو‬
‫استعمال ہو گی‬
i. I was reading when you (come) in.
ii. In an accident, he (injure) his leg yesterday.
iii. He (go) from her one day ago?
iv. In my last speech, I (speak) well.
v. Previous day, it (drizzle) slightly.
vi. Unfortunately, his uncle (die) last year in an accident.
vii. He (not work) hard to pass in the test.
viii. You (not go) to see him last night.
ix. We (work) all day yesterday?
x. The maid servant (dust) the house ten minutes ago.
‫‘ سے شروع ہو اس کے ساتھ فعل کی دوسری فارم آئےتو‬before’ ‫‘ یا‬when’, ‘while’ ‫ انگلش کا کوئی فقرہ اگر‬.7
‫ اور پھر‬were ‫ یا‬was ‫ یعنی فاعل کے بعد‬Past Continuous Tense ً ‫فقرے کے دوسرے حصے میں ہم عموما‬
‫ کا اضافہ کرتے ہیں‬ing ‫فعل کی پہلی فارم کے ساتھ‬
For example:
When he saw me, I was doing my homework.
Before we came, the students were making a noise.

‫ اور پھر فعل کی تیسری فارم استعمال کرتے ہیں۔ اگر جملہ دو حصوں پر‬had ‫ میں‬Past Perfect Tense (a) .8
‫ اور پھر فعل کی تیسری فارم لگا‬had ‫ والے حصے کا ترجمہ‬when ‫ اور‬if ‫مشتمل ہو تو شرط والے حصے یعنی‬
‫کر اور دوسرے حصے کا ترجمہ فعل کی دوسری فارم لگا کر کرتے ہیں‬
after you, when you, before you + second form of verb ‫ یا‬would that ‫( اگر کوئی فقرہ شروع ہو‬b)
‫ کے مطابق‬sense ‫ استعمال کرتے ہیں فقرے کی‬were ‫ یا‬had ‫سے تو ہم‬
i. Would that he (come).
ii. Would that I (be) rich.
iii. Before you came, I (take) tea.
iv. When the doctor came, the patient (die).
v. After he read the book, he (give) it to me.
vi. The farmers (irrigate) their crops before the heavy rains came.

The children had been playing since morning.

‫ اور فعل کی پہلی فارم استعمال کرتے ہیں۔ اگر فقرے‬shall ‫ یا‬will ‫ میں فاعل کے بعد‬Future Indefinite Tense .10
‫ استعمال کریں‬Future Indefinite Tense ‫ وغیرہ کے الفاظ آئیں تو‬in a …. ‫ یا‬next, tomorrow ‫میں‬
Exercise:
i. He (come) to meet you tomorrow.
ii. I (not repeat) this next time.
iii. The monsoon (return) to Pakistan in a couple of days.
iv. We (visit) Shalimar Bagh on Sunday next.
v. Soon the law enforcement agencies (arrest) the escaped terrorists.

‫ کا استعمال ہوتاہے‬ing ‫ اور فعل کی پہلی فارم کے ساتھ‬shall be ‫ یا‬will be ‫ میں‬Future Continuous Tense .11

iii. All the Muslims (say) Eid prayers.

‫‘ اور پھر فعل کی تیسری فارم استعمال ہوتی‬will have or shall have’ ‫مینفاعل کے بعد‬Future Perfect Tense .12
‫ استعمال کرتے ہیں۔‬Future Perfect Tense ‫“ وغیرہ الفاظ آئیں تو‬by, till etc.” ‫ہے۔ اگر فقرات میں‬

ix. The people (mourn) his death since the day before yesterday.

‫ کی مندرجہ ذیل تین اقسام ہوتی ہے‬Conditional Sentences .14
A.Probable Condition
‫ میں یعنی فعل کی پہلی‬Present Indefinite Tense ‫‘ والے حصے کا ترجمہ‬if’ or ‘when’ ‫اس قسم کے فقرے میں‬
‫ اور فعل‬shall ‫ یا‬will ‫ میں یعنی‬Future Indefinite Tense ‫فارم لگا کر کرتے ہیں اور دوسرے حصے کا ترجمہ‬
‫کی پہلی فارم لگا کر کرتے ہیں۔‬
Examples:
i. If he goes to Lahore, he shall bring a gift for you.
ii. When you return from abroad, we shall start a new business.
Exercise:
i. If you work hard, you (succeed).
ii. If he (run) fast, he will win the race.
iii. When I get first position, my father (buy) me a motorcycle.
iv. If you (become) late, the teacher will punish you.
v. When it (rain), the children will take a bath in it.
vi. When you come, I (go).
vii. If you oppose me, you (lick) the dust.
viii. If you tell a lie, Allah (be) displeased with you.
ix. When you start practicing what you say, the people (begin) to believe you.
x. If he (act) upon my advice, he will get the first prize.
B. Improbable Condition
‫ میں یعنی فعل کی دوسری فارم لگا‬Past Indefinite Tense ‫‘ والے حصے کا ترجمہ‬if’ ‫اس قسم کے فقرے میں‬
‫ اور پہلی فارم لگا کر کرتے ہیں۔‬should ‫ یا‬would ‫کر کرتے ہیں اور دوسرے حصے کا ترجمہ‬

Examples:
i. If I saw him, I would converse to him.
ii. If you went there, he would help you.
Exercise:
i. If you worked hard, you (succeed).
ii. If he (run) fast, he would win the race.
iii. If I got first position, my father (buy) me a motorcycle.
iv. If you (become) late, the teacher would punish you.
v. If it rained, the children (take) a bath in it.
vi. If you came, I (go).
vii. If you (oppose) me, you would lick the dust.
viii. If you spoke the truth, Allah (bless) you.

C.Impossible Condition
‫ اور فعل کی تیسری فارم‬had ‫ میں یعنی‬Past Perfect Tense ‫‘ والے حصے کا ترجمہ‬if’ ‫اس قسم کے فقرے میں‬
‫ اور فعل کی تیسری فارم لگا کر‬should have ‫ یا‬would have ‫لگا کر کرتے ہیں اور دوسرے حصے کا ترجمہ‬
‫کرتے ہیں۔‬
Examples:
i. If I had worked hard, I would have succeeded.
ii. If you had gone there, he would have served you.
Exercise:
i. If I had been present there, both the friends (not quarrel) with each other.
ii. If you had worked hard, you (get) the first prize.
iii. If the moon (sight), it would have been first fast today.
iv. If I (be) rich, I would have helped you.
v. If it had not rained, we (play) the match.
vi. If the boy (reach) in time, the teacher would not have beaten him.
vii. I would have brought a present for you if I (go) to bazaar.
viii. I (bring) a precious pen for you if I had gone to Lahore.
ix. I would have bought a new motor bike if (have) money.
x. If I (not promise) you I would have given you nothing.

1st Form of Verb = Will or Shall + 1st Form of Verb
2nd Form of Verb = Would or Should + 1st Form of Verb
Had + Third form of Verb = Would have or should have + 3rd Form of Verb
‫ مندرجہ ذیل الفاظ کے بعد فعل کی پہلی فارم استعمال ہوتی ہے‬.15

‫ والی فارم میں آتا ہے‬ing ‫ کی شکل یعنی‬Present Participle ‫ کے فورا ً بعد آنے واال فعل‬Prepositions .16
Prepositions: in, of, for, from etc.
Expressions: can not help, look forward to, with a view to, feel like, no use etc.
i. Amina succeeded in (pas) the examination.
ii. Please hurry up; I am afraid of (be) late.
iii. The boy was stopped from (tell) a lie.
iv. We look forward to (meet) you again.
v. He could not help (laugh) at my funny remark.
vi. The generous man can not help (serve) the needy.
vii. At this time I feel like (need) a cup of tea.
viii. It is no use (cry) over spilt milk.
ix. I have come back with a view to (discuss) the matter with you.
x. He could not help (conceal) his hatred for his enemy.
sense ‫ کے ساتھ فقرے کی‬as if ‫ اور فعل کی تیسری فارم استعمال ہوتی ہے۔ نیز‬had ‫ مندرجہ ذیل الفاظ کے بعد‬.17
