This folder contains the Nexus 1000v Virtual Supervisor Module (VSM), Virtual
Ethernet Module (VEM), Application Virtual Switch (AVS) for APIC, Schema for XML
APIs, PNSC(VNMC) Policy Agent, Virtual Switch Upgrade Manager (VSUM), Licensing and
Copyright document, and this README file.

Nexus 1000v (VSM, VEM) supports VMware vSphere 5.0, 5.1, 5.5, and 6.0.
Nexus 1000v (AVS for APIC) supports VMware vSphere 5.1, 5.5, and 6.0.

AVS for APIC:

Please note AVS supports only VMware vSphere 5.1, 5.5, and 6.0.
These images are present in the VEM directory and are common to AVS and VEM.

3. PNSC-PA
VSM-PA: vsmcpa.3.2.3a.bin (md5 00e048e340cd6b78a3ec2851a1902401)

The VSM is supported on VMware vSphere 5.0, 5.1, 5.5 and 6.0 Systems.

The upstream network should have the control and packet VLANs allowed for the
physical nics to be used with the Nexus 1000V.

ISO:
ISO format can be used to install the Nexus1000V on a user created VSM VM.
ISO format can also be used to install Nexus1000V VSM as a VSB (Virtual Service
Blade) in a CSP (Cloud Services Platform).

OVA:
The OVA file can be used to deploy the Nexus1000V VSM VM appliance.

1010_OVA:
The OVA file can be used to deploy the Nexus1000V VSM as a VSB (Virtual-service-
blade) in a CSP (Cloud Services Platform).

Kickstart/System:
The kickstart and System images can be used for upgrading an existing VSM to
5.2.1.SV3(2.8) version. The detailed upgrade steps are available in the
Documentation (http://www.cisco.com/go/1000vdocs).

PNSC-PA:
The VSM-PA file can be used to install or upgrade the PNSC policy agent on a
Nexus1000V VSM.

VEM:
----
Installation with VMware Update Manager is the recommended installation procedure
when installing the VEM.
These files are only required when performing a manual installation of the VEM
using the CCO
