recalling the past resolutions such as the Paris agreement from 2015 and
Copenhagen accord from 2009 and the resolutions 67/215 of 20 March 2013,
65/151 of 16 February 2011 on the International Year of Sustainable Energy
for All, all of which highlighted the urgency of replacing harmful means of
creating energy
PP3 Recognizing that many nations whom have set personal goals for
themselves in terms of percentage of energy output that is renewable energy
are not met and largely ignored,
PP4 Taking into account that renewable energies are more clean and
eco-friendly in contrast to other fossil fuels due to there natural lack of
environment damage and overall sustainability hence should be considered
when implementing new electrical plants,
PP5 Recognizing the Paris Climate Agreement established in the year
2015 that set a goal for the world in terms of attempting to maintain current
climate levels and to alter the global average temperature to 2 degrees celsius
higher than pre-industrial levels, DELETE
PP6 Highlighting the urgency in replacing environment-harmful means
of creating electricity with other more clean forms of energy, DELETE
Section 1 - Environment
OP1 Authorizes the construction of wind turbines in isolated areas in OIC
countries;
OP2 Calls upon member states whose countries experience shortages in
wind power to build hydropower dams;-- just dams??? Some countries can
probably use solar power and stuff
OP3 Firmly supports that countries with high availability in solar power
operate their own solar plants in desert areas;
OP1 Urges all states to tighten the regulation regarding pollution, fossil
fuel power plant and carbon dioxide emission gradually and commit to a set
deadline to said goals.
OP1 Suggest members state to in-cooperate the vacant lots into their
land use plant to provide convenience for sustainable energies.
Section 4 - Finance
OP1 Aware of financial status and difficulties, the government
should budget their projects to encourage more use of renewable
resources by giving financial support to energy plants ; Tabled
OP2 Encouraging direct funding or subsidize and encourage partnership
between local industry and renewable energy companies in developed
countries ;
OP3 Considering that giving financial support to renewable energy
market can make rooms for new energy plants and projects ;
OP1 Urges developed states to create policies that incentivise the
transfer of technology between private sectors in both the developed and
developing states;
OP1 Keeps in mind that renewable energy are costly and, once
implemented, can create thousands of jobs and should be subsidized by
government of individual countries;
OP2 Suggests the United Nations to implement facilities that allows
financial & tech support to less financially capable countries. Funding
organization;
OP3 Urges Member States to increase taxes on unsustainable energy,
and use such taxes as subsidies for the promotion of renewable energy;
OP4 Encourages international investments and private investments in
individual countries by increasing exportations of goods;
OP5 Promotes a wider distribution of investments on renewable energy
resources nationally and internationally as it will increase financial and
environmental sustainability and also accessibility by encouraging re-
investments, and minimizing exploitation;
OP6 Encourages the increase of taxes in unsustainable energy and
deduction the taxes on renewable energy in terms of supplies and cost of
production, in order to decrease the cost of renewable energy, and hence
make them more competitive, thus increasing investments;
Section 5 - Access
OP1 Urging governments to offer subsidies for the construction and
operation of renewable sources of energy;
Urges governments to offer subsidies and fund projects for the construction
and operation for renewable sources of energy such as hydropower dams,
solar-wind farms and encouraging the use of renewable resources of
energy. (op1 of yellow secion 4 and op1 of section 5)
OP2 Encourages the provision of welfares for the plant workers
including healthcare and education for their loved ones;
OP3 Suggests governments to promote equal distribution of alternative
renewable energy by subsidizing the cost for installing renewable energy in
every household regardless of location or economical status;
OP1 Invites developed nations to invest in small scale renewable energy
producers (for example, solar panels) in remote villages in developing nations
without access to electricity or a heavy reliance on traditional biomass or
dangerous fossil fuels;
PP1 Recalling its past resolutions 67/215 of 20 March 2013, 65/151 of 16 February 2011
on the International Year of Sustainable Energy for All,
PP3 Mindful of the importance of accessing to cleaner energy technology options for all
and the need to improve access to reliable and environmentally sound energy services and
renewable resources for sustainable development,
PP4 Keeping in mind that energy is inextricably linked to most global challenges as access
to energy is needed to achieve sustainable development as emphasized by sustainable
development goals; nevertheless, nearly one-fifth of the world’s population lacks electricity and
are relying on traditional biomass and solid fuel,
PP5 Viewing with concern from Report of secretary general of 15 August 2011 on the
promotion of renewable energy that the new and renewable sources of energy stand as the
record investments are being made and a coordinated global energy strategy and framework
needed to be adopted and effort to bring down the costs of the renewable technology for usage
of poorest segment,
Tech
OP1 Encourages developed nations providing aid to devise frameworks for deciding
which developing countries are in need of technological or financial aid;
OP2 Encourages also that developed nations use a framework to determine the amount
of technology and financial aid provided;
OP3 Proposes a foundation which enables academic institutions and private sectors, on
a national or regional level, to come together to collaborate on new and renewable technology
or local sustainable technology suited for that geographical area;
education
OP4 Recommends that developed nation support NGO’s effort on renewable energy in
developing nations and spread awareness regarding this matter, both financially and
technologically;
OP5 Suggests that public awareness campaigns be run both in developed and
developing nations to educate people of renewable energy;
OP6 Commends the creation of government sponsored programs which that creates an
opportunity for children to attend interactive school trips to local renewable energy power plants
with the purpose of comprehension of renewable energy;
OP7 Proposes that developed nations provide scholarship for students in developing
nations in the field of environmental science with focus on renewable energy to develop their
own countries and minimize cost for investors;
finance
OP8 Urges developed states to create policies that incentivise the transfer of technology
between private sectors in both the developed and developing states;
OP9 Proposes that developed nations invest in specific renewable energy projects in
developing nations;
Access to energy
OP10 Invites developed nations to invest in small scale renewable energy producers (for
example, solar panels) in remote villages in developing nations without access to electricity or a
heavy reliance on traditional biomass or dangerous fossil fuels;
OP11 Invites also for developed nations to provide trained personnel to provide
knowledge on the maintenance of those decentralized, small scaled energy grind in the long
term goal of self-maintenance by the locals;
Environment
OP12 Urges all states to tighten the regulation regarding pollution, fossil fuel power plant
and carbon dioxide emission gradually and commit to a set deadline to said goals
Preambular
Considering that the main sources of energy in various countries are crude
oil and natural gas,
Acknowledging the significance of finding alternative energy from
renewable sources as replacements for our current energy sources which
contribute to excessive Carbon dioxide emissions and thus global warming
and climate change,
Taking into account the availability of wind power in OIC countries is
abundant,
Taking into account also that the construction of wind turbines might lead to
further deforestation and the operation of them might act as noise
disturbances for the residents in the surrounding area,
Wishing to effectively promote the usage of renewable energy and decrease
the amount of disapproval of it,
Section 1 - Environment
Authorizes the construction of wind turbines in isolated areas in OIC
countries;
Calls upon member states whose countries experience shortages in wind
power to build hydropower dams;
M2 - Firmly supports that countries with high availability in solar
power operate their own solar plants in desert areas; *
OP12 Urges all states to tighten the regulation regarding pollution, fossil
fuel power plant and carbon dioxide emission gradually and commit to a set
deadline to said goals.
M2 - Suggest members state to incorporate the vacant lots into their land
use plants to provide convenience for sustainable energies. SETTLED
Merge: *Firmly supports that countries with vacant lots in their land
(such as deserts) and use the land to operate wind turbines and solar
power plants.
Section 4 - Finance
Aware of financial status and difficulties, the government should budget
their projects to encourage more use of renewable resources by giving
financial support to energy plants ; not clear what projects are being
budgeted, what if more important projects like infrastructure and
communications are being limited over renew-energy
MERGE OP1 of yellow and op1 also of yellow of section 5 (as we feel this
better suits being in section 4- access has a lot to do with economic situations,
and we feel as this one should be discussed in finance) Urges governments to
offer subsidies and fund projects for the construction and operation for
renewable sources of energy such as hydropower dams, solar-wind farms and
encouraging the use of renewable resources of energy. (op1 of yellow secion
4 and op1 of section 5)

Wishing to effectively promote the usage of renewable energy and decrease
the amount of disapproval of it,
Recalling the Paris agreement from 2015 and Copenhagen accord from 2009,
Noting the Copenhagen Accord created during the year 2009 that reformed
and established a set of rules that attempted to limit carbon emissions in
various nations, however, proving largely ineffective due to lack of
commitment towards reaching the goals of that the accord wanted to be
implement, with nations such as China increasing carbon emission outputs
from 40% to 45%,
Recognizing that many nations whom have set personal goals for themselves

Highlighting the urgency in replacing environment-harmful means of creating
electricity with other more clean forms of energy,
Encourages the slight increase of tax on fossil fuels and deduction of tax on
renewable energies, in terms of supply and cost of production in order to
make the prices of the two sources of energy competitive, hence more
investment and progressing of renewable energies,
encourages the increase of tax on unsustainable and the deduction of tax on
renewable energies in order to decrease the cost of renewable energy and
hence make it more competitive in the market of all energies
Section 1 - Environment
