LA RUTINA DIARIA

Objective: describe and talk about someone’s daily routine.

Dos Mundos, chapter 4, pages 155 to 158.

(we suppose that they have already seen how to describe one owns daily routine in the
previous class)

1. Vocabulary presentation (15 minutes)

“Hoy vamos a ver la rutina diaria de mi amiga Elena (I write La rutina diaria on the
board)”
Picture files presentation: Elena se despierta, se levanta, se ducha, se cepilla el pelo, se
lava los dientes, se maquilla, se viste, desayuna, sale de casa.
I will show each one of the files and write the sentence corresponding to each picture
next to each one.
After having explained all of them, I will make comprehension checks by erasing some
of the verbs to check if the students remember the words.

“Ahora vamos a ver de qué os acordáis. ¿Qué hace Elena en esta foto? ¿Y en esta
otra?”.

2. Dos Mundos, page 156 (individually and in pairs – 10 minutes)

The activity is divided in two different parts. In the first one, the teacher reads aloud
the description of the daily routine of different people. The students have to listen to
the description of the teacher and find out which one I am describing.

Then, they have to work by pairs in order to describe and find the differences between
two new stripes of pictures (speaking).

3. Video (individually-10 minutes)

The students have to listen to a video in which two persons talk about their daily
routine. They will listen to it twice in order to complete the following chart.

“Ahora vamos a ver la rutina diaria de Elías y Pilar. Elías y Pilar son profesores de
español, como yo. Pero, ellos trabajan en Reikiavik (Islandia). Vamos a ver qué hacen
Pilar y Elías un día normal”.
