I OBJECTIVES

At the end of the period the students will be able to:


a. identify the different behavior of Housekeeping Personnel.
b. define the different behavior of Housekeeping Personnel.
c. discuss the importance of behaviors of housekeeping personnel in lodging establishments.

B. Motivation
Ask the students what are their experiences with
the different personnel in different
establishments like supermarket, grocery stores
and the like.

Presentation:

Today we are going to discuss about the ideal


behavior and traits of Housekeeping personnel.

C. Analysis (Discussion)
Give and identify the different professional
behavior and traits of housekeeping personnel. Professional behavior and Traits of the
housekeeping staff.
1. Honesty
This is very essential attributes of a
housekeeping staff since room attendants have a
direct access to guest rooms.
2. Good grooming
Staff should be presentable, neat and clean all
the time since we always come in contact with
the guest.
3. Industrious
All the staff not only the housekeeper or
room attendant should possess this trait. Being
hard working is essential to employees.
4. Initiative
Ability to assess and initiate things
independently since housekeeping staff is close
to guests whenever they have request.
5. Cooperative
Housekeeping staff should have good
cooperation with other staff of other department
so that it will not indirectly affect guests and
hamper efficiency.
6. Flexibility
Housekeeping staff should be willing to
adapt to situations and welcome innovations.
7. Patience
Staff should always accept or tolerate
unexpected situations or work without
complains, loss of temper or anger.
8. Good public relations
Has good relations with other employees
especially with the guests.
9. Courteous
Should be humble and polite with both the
guests and other employees. Being courteous add
a positive experience to the guests stay.
10. Being on time
It will show a persons interest to work if he is
always on time.

D. Activity
I will be reading a few scenarios that involves
behavior of housekeeping staff. Identify if these
are the correct behavior that we have discussed.
E. Abstraction (Generalization)
It is important for housekeeping personnel to
have a professional behavior since our work
deals with guests. We should always remember
that guests are always right though we know that
we also can reason out but since they are
important people in our establishments we
should always give them our patience and best
service that we could offer.

F. Application
Based on the professional traits that we have
discussed, write the experiences you have
encountered having these traits from service staff
from establishments.

IV. ASSESSMENT

5. Has good communication with other department especially with guest.

The objective was met within the time frame.

REFLECTION:
Students were able to grasp the meaning of positive traits and behaviors that an employee should
have since most of them already had interact with different staff from different establishments.
