1. Explain cultural change and its effect on the life of the people.
 Cultural exchange involve two different cultures mingling and sharing their ideas, goods
and ways of living.
 Years of research indicate that there are four major side effects of cultural transformation
and when leaders anticipate and plan for them their negative consequences can be
overcome.

2. What are the different levels of multicultural education?


1. Contributions – Heroes, holidays and food become special focus on a particular day,
recognizing the contributions of various groups.
2. Additive – special units and topics about various groups are added to, but do not
fundamental alter the curriculum.
3. Transformation – curriculum is changed, so that student see the world from different
perspective of various groups.
4. Social action – student make decisions about their world and become directly involved in
social action.

3. How can teachers meet the diverse needs of an increasingly multicultural changing student
population?
Changing patterns of immigration and birth rates have produced increasingly diver’s
classrooms. Generalizing knowledge about different groups useful for instructional planning.
However, represents dangerous overstatements about groups and members of groups and
members of groups and teachers must be wary of the damaging impact such as stereotypes
and have both teaching and learning.

4. Discuss the role of multicultural education in the transformation of society?


 To help students to acquire knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to function
effectively in pluralistic democratic society.
 To help students to acquire knowledge and commitments needed to make
reflective decisions.
 To promote democracy and democratic living.
 To help students develop more positive attitudes toward different racial, ethics,
cultural and religious groups.
