ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to identify the different effects of childhood trauma to the
behavior of young adults. It aimed to find out various childhood experiences that
resulted to trauma on children and how it manifests through behaviors displayed by the
same a young adult. Phenomenological design was used in the study. Convenience
sampling was used to gather the study participants, wherein the research group chose
young adults nearest to their location. The sample size consisted of 3 participants whom
the group interviewed. The resuts of the study indicated that childhood incidents resulting
to trauma caused various effects to an individual’s behavior particularly in choosing
which places to go to or avoid, how they react to different scenarios that they relate to the
traumatic incident that happened to them. Results of the study also showed that simple
decisions as to what color to choose is also affected by trauma.
