FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STATEMENT FROM THE FAMILY OF WILLIAMS AND WILSON FAMILY

The families of the late Barbara Ann Williams (71), Cynthia Ann Williams (51) and Patricia Wilson (62)
are profoundly saddened and heartbroken by the murder of these amazing women. If you knew them
all – you knew they were related- as their traits aligned to one another. They are a part of a tight-knit
family, which loved to spend time with each other. Each of these women loved taking care of their
family and community. The loss of these treasures is heartbreaking and even more unimaginable
knowing they died tragically in a senseless and savage trilogy of murder.

Barbara Ann Williams was the matriarch of the entire family she was the eldest of 11 children and
throughout her life has cared for all of her immediate family members. Her death is completely
indescribable as she was the rock of this family as the mother of four children, grandmother of 14
children, and the great-grandmother of an additional 14 children. The breath of her family cannot be
confined to paper because she also called her neighborhood, church, and community family. She
recently retired from the medical field to continue her civic work of helping others. We were blessed to
have an amazing woman who lived a life that extended loved, respect and genuine concern for
everyone. She surrounded this family with love and strength; the loss of her has left a hole in our
hearts that cannot be filled.

Patricia Wilson was a loving police officer’s wife, mother of three children, grandmother of six, and
great-grandmother of one. She was known for her high- fashion, love for her family and church. She
was also widely known for her infectious smile --which warmed the hearts of anyone she came into
contact with. Her loss is felt throughout the community, as she was a pillar in her family and
neighborhood. She showed compassion for her community and strived to be an example to kids who
looked up to her. There is a profound sadness that this pillar was stripped of her life.

Cynthia Ann Williams was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and grandmother. Much like her
mother and aunt, she would feed the community through her kindness and compassion for others.
She worked in the auto field but her true joy in life was spending time her children and grandchildren.
She worked daily to make life better for them. The tragic loss of Cynthia is a heartfelt sorrow that we
cannot understand.

While we truly mourn the loss of these very virtuous women, we celebrate their remarkable lives that
were taken too soon. Our family will honor them by remaining strong in this tragic situation. We are
comforted by the peace of our Savior that we will one day be with them in heaven. We would like to
thank the Detroit Police Department, Detroit Public School Officers, Wayne County Sheriff's
Department and the Michigan State Police for their incredible work in this tragic situation and
investigation.

The funeral arrangements are unknown at this time as the investigation is still pending.

For those seeking to honor the lives of these wonderful women, a Williams and Wilson
Memorial, fund has been set up at Comerica Bank 8 Mile and Mound Rd. 20555 Mound Rd,
Detroit, MI 48234
