Title: Accounting Assistant

Reports to: Assistant Financial Accounts Manager

Main purpose of the job

To ensure the accurate and timely processing of all data required to maintain up to date
records and project management, and producing weekly reports for management thereon;
and to provide other accounting assistance to the Finance team.

Main Responsibilities

• Daily banking reconciliations for areas including programmes, ice creams and shop
sales.
• Preparation of weekly reports, utilising daily banking information and catering
reports.
• Assisting with processing of departmental costs and income as required, ensuring that
these are correctly coded and authorised for entry in a timely fashion into the general
ledgers.
• Data entry of purchase orders and time records in order to produce up to date reports
on production costs on a weekly basis.
• Data entry of new suppliers and purchase ledger invoices, as directed by the Purchase
Ledger Supervisor.
• Data entry of new customers and sales ledger invoices, as directed by the Sales
Ledger Supervisor.
• Processing the Schedule D payroll submissions on a weekly basis.
• Collating required timesheet information for preparation of production cost allocation.
• Assisting the management accounts team with ad hoc projects and other analysis as
required.
• Processing monthly taxi journal to reallocate costs to various projects as required by
Operations finance team.
• Statement reconciliations for supplier accounts.
• Assisting with credit control for sales ledger customers.
• Providing support for the management accounts team, including photocopying,
requisition requests, invoice and payroll preparation, post and other duties as required.

KPI’s

• Up to date processing of all departmental bankings, purchase orders, sales ledger


invoices, purchase ledger invoices and Schedule D invoices as required so that these
can be posted to project management and general ledgers as early as possible.
• Production of weekly shop, catering and experience data reports.
• Processing monthly taxi journal on a timely basis

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Accounts
• Highly numerate and analytical, with good spreadsheet skills
• Highly proficient MS Office skills including Excel, Word, and computerised
accounting systems
• Good data entry skills with high standard of general accuracy and eye for detail
• Understanding of accounting cycle and processes
• Respect for compliance issues and confidential information

Organisation Skills
• Self motivated, highly organised, and able to work effectively to deadlines with
minimal supervision
• Ability to learn about new procedures and become operational in a short period of
time
• Capacity to manage a busy workload with high productivity
• Commitment to delivering a high standard of work
