JOSE RIZAL’S MESSAGE TO FILIPINO WOMAN

 Rizal was impressed, and greatly satisfied to the fighting spirit of the
young woman of Malolos. During those times woman was not sent to
school due to the universal notion that they will only be taken as wives
and be at home with the children.
 The actions of the 20 woman who petitioned to open a night school that
was rejected, but later on accepted with their determination to continue
the petition overwhelmed Jose Rizal that he ultimately desired for men
and woman to have the same opporunities in terms of education.
RIZAL’S POINTS TO THE FRIARS
 Not all friars shows or practices the true spiritual essence of the Church
and God.
 For their Benifit they equalized the wealth given by a person, and
salvation. Fooling the people the more they give to the church/ friars
wil save them from God’s judgment.
 Friar’s Blasphemous act such as of the word he speaks is the word of
God, his desire as desires of God, and brand his own enemy as the
enemy of God.
 Rizal Points that its is not just reciting prayers, having religious images,
items, and altars . It is living in accordance to the Christian manner and
right morals.(Zaide & Zaide 1999)
THE RESPONSIBILITY AND INFLUENCE OF FILIPINO MOTHERS TO
MEN OF THE SOCIETY
 The Mother is the first person to educate her children. If a child is molded
in the wrong path so is his reasoning.
 Filipino Mothers must teach their Children about the love of God,
country, and fellowmen.
 Through the letter for the young women of Malolos Rizal’s main point
of the for the mothers responsibility to their children is, Whatever the
mother shows to her children is what the children will also become.
 What Qualities Should a Filipino Mother possess:
o Be a noble wife.
o Rear her children in the service of the state -- here Rizal gives
reference to the women of Sparta who embody this quality
o Set standards of behavior for men around her.
RIZAL’S VIEW TO UNMARRIED MEN AND WOMEN
 Looks can decieve both men and woman.
 What kind of man should woman look for a husband:
o Strong Manly heart
o honorable and Virtures man
o High Spirit
ANALYSIS
 Filipino Woman Should educated their selves aside from protecting their
good racial values.
 Filipino Woman should protect their honor and dignity.
 Faith is not just reciting a prayer having or wearing religious images
items and or alter it living to the morals and manners that accords
Christian values.
 As Rizal use Spartan mothers as a model, Filipino mothers should also
be honored to offer their sons in defense for the country.
 Filipino mothers should teach their children the love of God country, and
fellowmen
