note that during two first weeks of the semester the timetables
might change. Also, when you are taking courses from different
faculties, the timetables of the courses might overlap. Then you
have to choose between the courses. Language courses and sports
are not included in the timetables.

Please follow the registration deadlines (see academic calendar). In


case you’ve decided to change anything comparing to the study
plan you’ve entered in ÕIS you must fill in the Study Plan and take
it to the dean’s office. During the first week of the semester you will
receive your personal student code and password from IT-
department SOC-132.

When you live in the hostel, you will get the living agreement from
the reception desk. After you have made agreement, please go City
District Government to register your place of residence. When you
have registered your place of residence, please go to Citizenship
and Migration board to apply for ID-card. When you have received
ID-card, you can also use the library and copy centre etc. with it.

Using the computers, scanning, copying and printing is all


possible in the library. There are lockers in the lobby of the main
building where you can leave your personal belongings during
lectures.

Useful info regarding taxis


An average trip from city centre to Mustamäe costs around 7 EUR.
Please, always call the taxi! Use only legal taxis. It’s cheaper and
safer like that. Before entering the taxicab become familiar with
the price list for taxi. Service prices are posted on the right rear
window of the taxicab. The price list is also located on the
dashboard. The passenger will pay for the trip according to the
reading on the taxi meter (the taxi driver is prohibited from asking
for a higher price than shown on the meter). In order to avoid
misunderstandings, clarify the approximate fare to the destination
in advance. You have the right to demand a receipt from a legal
taxy.

8. MOVING AROUND
Price
We are pleased to inform you that the public transportation for
Tallinn resident from the 1st of January 2013 is free.

Free public transport will be available to the students as soon as


they know their personal ID-code. Although, it is not free for
students who come with D-visa.

Before that you can to purchase green public transport card


Ühiskaart that costs 2€ and buy a monthly ticket for 23€. It must
be validated for every journey. It can be bought in many places, e.g:
post offices, R-Kiosk, Selver, Maxima, Rimi.

How to get to the city


On the campus you can easily get to the city centre. There are three
stations. The most used is called Keemia and stands right at the
entrance of the SOC building. We suggest to take the trolley
number 3 to go as the entrance of city is visible when it stops.
