Summer Internship Programme
About Summer Internship
After completing the second semester, the students are required to complete 8-10 weeks of
summer internship in an organization of their choice, so as to obtain practical knowledge. The
summer internship program is meant to bridge the gap between the industry and the academic
institution. It provides an exposure to the business environment, enabling them to experience the
rigours of a business organization.
The objectives of Summer Internship program are:
• To provide students with opportunities to apply the concepts learnt in the classroom to real
life situations.
• To sensitize students to the nuances of a work place by assigning time bound projects in the
company.
• To provide students with a platform to network with the industry
The final project is more in the nature of a research work spread across the third and the
fourth semesters under the guidance of faculty.
The project is an:
• Exhaustive research on a topic pertaining to preferred functional area and its relevance in
the current organizational context.
• An integrated approach to the theory & practice to enhance requisite skills for successful
executive careers.
Guidelines for Recruiting Interns
• Willingness to recruit an intern can be communicated through mail or Contact to the
placement coordinator.
• The job description of the internship must be given in detail to the placement coordinator.
• Internship should be a project oriented one.
• Internship aspirants' list and profiles would be forwarded to the employer.
• List of short listed candidates to be informed to placement office.
• Selection process would be conducted as per the employer demands.
• Payment negotiation can be done with the candidate/school.

Recruitment Process and Policies
Scheduling:
Recruiters will contact the placement office to discuss and to schedule the possible dates for pre-
placement talk. Within a week span the talk would be conducted at school.

Pre-Placement talk:
The Pre-placement talks with at least of 30 minutes presentation and 15 minutes direct Q&A
session are recommended at school, so that students get a brief knowledge of company, culture,
policies, Job description etc.

Recruitment:
Companies conduct their on-campus recruitment process, infrastructure for conducting aptitude
tests, interviews etc. are available at school.

Results:
The recruiters would intimate the list of selected candidates to the placement office.

Offer letters:
The joining dates of the selected candidates would be worked out as per the requirement of the
companies and the course completion date of the students.
