Notes/Narratives
On December 27th I responded to the Manitoba Apartment complex for a Domestic Dispute. When I arrived I met with Chaudhry Salam. Ms.
Salam told me that she believed her roomate, Imran Awan, was not supposed to live there and she wanted him to leave. I spoke to Mr. Awan who
advised that he was on the lease and later it was determined by Ms Salam that he was. I explained the eviction process to Ms. Salam and she said
"Ive heard that before". It was difficult at first to determine what was really going on as both parties were not cooperating fully with the
investigation.

I had Ms. Salam step into the back portion of the house away from her "roomate". I asked her what the relation was between the two. She said they
are just friends and told me she had come here from Pakistan. It appeared that the two people were in a romantic relationship. Ms Salam had a
that she said happened when she was doing dishes. Ms. Salam said she just wanted to leave and go to a shelter as she has no
money. Ms. Salam has two children that were both at the residence both under the age of 8. I asked Ms. Salam why she was crying and calling the
police. Ms. Salam insisted nothing happened but that she wanted to leave.

I went and spoke to Mr. Awan who quickly advised that he wanted to speak with a lawyer. I asked him about the small amount of dried blood that
appeared to be on his left hand. He stated that it was from when his "roomate" was getting the phone from him. Ms. Salam also insisted that it was
an incidental blood transfer from her hand to his whe he was handed her a phone. Ms. Salam began packing up the children and was getting ready
to leave.

I spoke to Mr. Awan and asked if he would mind finding a hotel for the night or possibly staying with friends or family. He said he is "not
welcome" to stay with his family but after some convincing he said he would leave the apartment for the night.

After he left I stayed and spoke with Ms. Salam about getting a protective order. It appeared as if the two are in some type of committed
relationship but both parties denied this. Ms Salam and her two children stayed in the apartment and I advised her to call if anything else
happened.
