Safety in the workshop means having an environment free from injury and

working practices which have to be observed all the times. Instituting proper
procedures and ensuring a safe environment will allow students to work without
worrying about their safety. Workshop safety is one of the importance aspect. That’s

Safety in this area is a major importance and it is imperative that safe working
practices are observed all the times. Failure to observe safety rules will result in that
individual losing the privilege to work in the craft room. Safety deals with acute
hazard, whereas health deals with chronic hazards. Many craft room accidents and
problems are accountable to haste. An acute effect is sudden reaction to a severe
condition; a chronic effect is a long-term deterioration due to a prolonged exposure
to a milder adverse condition.
Any type of incidents might happens if people did not know how to practice the
safety practice when they are in the workshop. There are some rules that students

students
b) To prevent any type of incidents that might be happens while students in the
workshop.

1.4 SCOPE OF STUDY

This study is conducted at Carpentry Workshop in Civil Engineering

Department, Polytechnics Merlimau, Melaka. The respondents will be taken
from semester 1 because they are register this course which is the Carpentry
Workshop in subject DCC 1032 Plumbing and Carpentry Workshop. They are
consist of 62 students, separately in two class. To achieve the data, a
questionnaire will be given to them. From this questionnaire, the result is
representing the percentage of data by every statement. The student will fill the
questionnaire in google form by only clicking a Uniform Resource Locator
