 Terms and Conditions

1. This price list is effective from 01.01.2014 and cancels ALL our previous Price lists. For all patients, Customers and
samples received from 01.01.2014 only the MRP given in this price list will apply.
2. The prices will be valid till 31.12.2014, and are subject to revision, if the US Dollar or EURO Changes by more than 10 %.
3. The schedule of Reporting is meant for the Customers/samples received at the Kilpauk Centres. In Branches the
reporting time will be mentioned in the Invoice/Bill, and Hitech will take all efforts to deliver the reports as per the
Invoice.
4. There could be some delays in reporting due to non availability of reagents, Instrument failure, and other forces of
nature which are beyond our control. In such instances Hitech will inform the Customers about such delay and deliver
the reports at the earliest possible time.
5. From 01.01.2014 onwards all Institutional customers (Labs, Hospitals, Companies) will be provided only with the soft
copy of the reports – which can be either downloaded from our website or sent by e mail. Printed copies will be
provided only on Specific request.
6. All Institutional customers ( Labs, Hospitals, Companies ) must make payment within a month of receiving the invoice,
unless specifically agreed in the MoU. For any delay interest at the rate of 18 % per annum will be charged, and further
credit facilities will be discontinued.

 PATIENT PREPARATION
Fasting Blood Tests :
For the following tests advise the patient to report to the Lab in a
fasting condition (i.e., 10 to 12 hours of overnight fasting). Also advise
the patient to avoid Alcohol, Smoking and Non vegetarian Diet on the
previous Day.
1. Fasting Blood Sugar, all types of GTT.
2. Master Health Check Up, Well Women Check Up , Executive and
Geriatric Health Check up.
3. Lipid Profile, Triglycerides, Cardiac Risk Profile, Vitamin B12, Folic
acid & Homocysteine.
Therapeutic Drug Monitoring:
(Phenytoin, Carbamazepine, Phenobarbitol and Valproate)
Advise the patient to give blood Samples one Hour before the next
Dose. i.e. in the morning before taking the Drugs for “Trough Level” .
If testing for Toxicity advise the patient to give the sample at any time .
Semen Analysis:
Advise to observe abstinence for 3 to 5 days before giving the sample.
If the patient wants to collect the sample at home, instruct the patient
to collect sample in a sterile container and bring the sample to the lab
within 1 hour of collection.
Semen samples are not accepted on Sundays.
For X-rays and ECG :
Advice the patient to wear simple cotton dress which has minimal
interference.

Down’s Syndrome Screening :
1st trimester:
Please refer the patient only between 11 weeks to 13 weeks, 6 days of
pregnancy. Please fill up the Test request form with Patient
Demography data and Ultrasound data. Without these data it will not
be possible to calculate the Risk. NT and CRL measurement are a must
for 1st trimester screening.
Blood sample and ultra sound to be taken on the same day. Maximum
delay between the two can be only 2 days.
2nd trimester:
Please refer for 2nd trimester Screening (Triple or Quadrupole
Screening) only between 16 to 22nd weeks of pregnancy. Please also
fill up the Second trimester form.
For HPV, and Liquid Based Cytology :
Please collect Specimen collection Devices with brush and
Preservative Fluid.
MICROBIOLOGY :
For Urine, Throat Swab, and other cultures :
Advise the patient to give the sample BEFORE taking any antibiotics.
The samples must be given in the morning only , since they are more
likely to contain the organism.
Sputum Samples for AFB, MTB –PCR, Genexpert MTB-RIF and MDR
TB:
Advise the patient to give the first sample collected in the morning
before even brushing the teeth. Since they are more likely to contain
the bacilli. The samples collected later in the day usually do not
contain the bacilli.

 URINE CHEMISTRY (24 Hours) PROCEDURE FOR 24 Hrs URINE COLLECTION
Test Preservative
Patients are given a Container, a 5 Litre plastic can with
appropriate Preservative. Advise the patient not to wash
Proteins Boric acid 10 - 15 gms
the Container, since the preservatives will also be washed
out.
Microalbumin Boric acid 10 - 15 gms
1. Ask the patient to void urine at 7.00 am on First day
Creatinine Boric acid 10 - 15 gms morning. This should be discarded, and should never be
included in the Container.
Sodium No Preservative Refrigerate the Sample 2. All other urine voided during the next 24 hours must be
included in the container. Make sure patient is not going
Potassium No Preservative Refrigerate the Sample out of Home / Hospital and voids urine outside.

Chloride Boric acid 10 - 15 gms 3. Next day at 7.00 am ask the Patient to void urine
compulsorily, and this must be included in the container.
Calcium 6NHcl - 15 ml Hospitals and Labs : Mix all the urine well and send us only
50 ml. Clearly note the Patient Name. Age, and the Test
Phosphorous 6NHcl - 15 ml needed and also the Total Volume on the label. Samples for
which the total volume is not noted will not be accepted.
