CHAPTER 1:- EMPLOYEE COUNSELLING – DEFINITION, MEANING AND SCOPE
 A therapeutic process of providing help and support to people to
face and sail through difficult times in life. It helps individuals
understand the essence of life and helps them look in different
viewpoint and motivate them to lead their life without any
hinderance.
 Coaching can be of many types i.e parental counselling, health
counselling, family counselling, student counselling and so on.
 There is always a difference between coaching and counselling.
Counselling which is done for personal as well as professional
aspects whereas coaching is done on specific aspects.
 The need for counselling in organizations arises due to excessive
workloads, absenteeism, disputes among subordinates, career
development issues, performance issues, etc.

CHAPTER 2 – SELF DEVELOPMENT OF THE COUNSELOR – NEED, HOW AND WHY


 The counselor must know in and out about the employees
problems.
 The qualities of a good counselor includes

CHAPTER 3 – COUNSELLING STYLES AND PRACTICES


 The counsellor must be evaluative, interpretative,
supportive, probing, reflective .
 The process of counselling is-
STEP 1- IDENTIFY THE NEED.
STEP 2 –PREPARING FOR COUNSELLING.
STEP 3 – CONDUCT THE SESSION.
STEP 4 – FOLLOW UP.

Psychoanalytical and psychodynamic therapy
Humanistic therapy
Arts therapy

SUGGESTIONS
It could have been great if we had more sessions. Keep up
