Oracle has announced the opening of a first-of-its-kind Innovation Hub in Dubai to drive the
implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) across the UAE. Oracle has named the new
facility, ‘Zayed Innovation Hub’ to honour the progressive vision of the UAE’s Founding Father,
said a Wam news agency report.

Digital Realty is bringing direct connectivity between its customers’ networks and Oracle’s
cloud platform to 14 metropolitan areas in the US and Europe.

The service is aimed at enterprises whose applications rely on both Oracle’s cloud services and
their own storage and computing infrastructure sitting in Digital’s data centers.
Providing direct, private network links to as many major public cloud providers
as possible has become a crucial strategic capability for data center providers, as
enterprises migrate to hybrid-cloud architectures. Through its Service Exchange
platform, launched last year, Digital has been providing such access to Amazon
Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Office 365, and Google Cloud Platform.

Oracle’s latest Critical Patch Update. The CPU provided fixes for the Meltdown and
Spectre chip flaws and Java vulnerabilities.
The January 2018 Oracle Critical Patch Update contained fixes for 237 vulnerabilities
across hundreds of Oracle products, including the company’s widely used Oracle
Database Server and Java Standard Edition.
