1. The condenser supplier shall guarantee that the maximum oxygen concentration leaving
the condenser does not exceed the maximum oxygen ppb level specified above for all
continuous operating conditions with make-up flows up to and including the maximum continuous flow.
2. Maximum condenser make-up flow occurs during transient start-up and shutdown (intermittent)
conditions. The condenser must deaereate the feedwater at all operating conditions
such that the oxygen concentration does not exceed the maximum oxygen
ppb level specified for the maximum intermittent make-up flow, above.
3. Makeup water and Steam Seal condensate from the gland seal condenser
will be added above the top tube or in the transition section to the condenser hotwell.
The condenser design shall assume that make-up water will be supplied to the
condenser saturated with air at 1.04 bar(a) and 33°C (Average).
1.3 Notes:
3. Bypass flows shown are the total from all HRSGs. The flows from each bypass system will
enter the condesner as individual connections, one from each HRSG.
4. Bypass discharge manifolds (spargers) shall be designed and located such that steam discharged
will not impinge on steam turbine last stage buckets, condenser tubes, supports, and
condenser shell under all bypass operating conditions including maximum non-coincident
steam bypass operating condition specified in the Steam Bypass Specification T219HA.
In addition to meeting the above requirements, the condenser shall satisfy requirements defined in
the GE Design Basis Document, Section 3, Paragraph 3.15, Condensate System.
5. Hotwell storage capacity from the normal water level to the low water level condensate pump
trip setting shall be minimum four (4) minutes at the maximum NORMAL (without bypass operation)
operating condensate flow.
6. Hotwell shall have a minimum surge storage volume between normal water level and high water
level trip setting of three (3) minutes based on the maximum NORMAL (without bypass operation)
operating condensate flow.

8. Sparge steam at 215°C +/- 8 °C and 10 bar(a) will be supplied to the condenser from an auxiliary boiler prior to
start-up and during the initial phases of start-up. An additional electrical heater will be needed for steam seal system
to reach a steam temperature of 260°C (hot restart of steam turbine). The auxiliary boiler will be shutdown during start-up when
steam is available from the steam cycle. Required sparging steam will be supplied from the IP steam system
whenever the auxiliary boiler is not operating. The sparge steam pressure range is between 10 bar (a) and 26 bar (a).
The sparge steam temperature ranges from 193 °C to 360 °C.
9. The condenser vendor shall recommend a sparging schedule as a function of sparge steam supply
conditions, condenser pressure, make-up rate, condenser thermal duty, and other parameters
determined by the condenser vendor. Sparging steam shall not be required when operating
at gas turbine baseload with a make-up water flow rate below 3% of the condensate flow rate.
10. For Multi-Shaft STAG applications with Cascading Bypass, one additional connection to the condenser
is needed for the reverse flow discharge valve. Piping with (later) mm diameter pipe must accommodate
a steam flow of 22.88x10^3 kg/hr at 190 °C temperature.
11. The number, size, flow, and temperature levels of drain lines entering the condenser is highly
dependent on the specific plant piping arrangement. The plant piping arrangement designer
is responsible for specifying these drain line connection requirements to the condenser vendor.
12. Water curtain flow of up to 85x10^3 kg/hr are available at the hotwell operating temperature.
The pressure varies from 16.8 to 27 bar (a).
