1. PLANNING INFORMATION
A. Reason
B. Description
Major modification STM80013A is the top level change covering the certification and
approval of a functioning wireless In-Flight Entertainment system on the Airbus Single
Aisle Family of Aircraft (A318/A319/A320/A321). Three minor modifications STM80015A,
STM80016A and STM80017A (see para.1.K.) detail the specific requirements for the
wIFE system structural, component and wiring installation as well as a minor modification
STM80014A which inhibits functionality for proof installation only.
STM80015A introduces the structural mounting provision to facilitate the installation of the
equipment for the above system.
C. Manpower
33 man-hours (does not include sealant, paint or surface treatment curing times).
Mechanical and electrical skills are necessary.

WAP Template P/N ST442H0005-T will be required for WAP mounting plate installation.

2. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: MAKE SURE THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS ARE MADE SAFE
AS DETAILED IN THE APPLICABLE CHAPTERS OF THE OEM AMM.
Note: Abbreviations used in the accomplishment instructions of this Service Bulletin (SB)
are:
(1) Observe all WARNINGS and CAUTIONS appearing in the OEM AMM.
(2) Extreme care is to be taken when drilling holes to avoid damage to surrounding
structure and skin.
(3) Make sure all holes keep minimum edge distance and pitch (Ref. OEM SRM).
(4) All holes drilled through metal parts must be de-burred and given full protective
treatment using Alocrom (Alodine) 1200.
(5) Remove all swarf and debris from the aircraft during and on completion of
modification and before painting or assembling components. Take particular care
to clear out potential swarf and debris catchment areas such as stringers, frame
cleats etc.
(6) Restore protective treatment using epoxy primer and polyurethane top coat
(Ref. OEM SRM).
B. Preparation
(1) Make sure the aircraft and aircraft systems are made safe as detailed in the
applicable chapters of the OEM AMM.
(2) Refer to OEM AMM chapters and remove panels and trim to gain access to the
Avionics Bay for the structural provisioning of the Server tray mounting.
(3) Refer to OEM AMM chapters and remove panels and trim to gain access to the
cabin for the structural provision of the 3G/4G Antenna at Frame 20 left hand side.
(4) Refer to OEM AMM chapters and remove panels and trim to gain access to the
cabin for the structural provision of the CCP on L/H overhead bin end panel at
Frame 20.
(5) Refer to OEM AMM chapters and remove panels and trim to gain access to
structural provision for the WAP mounting plates positioning (between Frames 28
and 29 at Stringers 4R and 5R, between Frames 43 and 44 at Stringers 4R and 5R
and between Frames 55 and 56 at Stringers 4R and 5R).
(1) Refer to Installation Drawing ST442H0003, OEM AMM and OEM SRM instructions.
(2) Install Server Tray.
(1) Refer to Installation Drawing ST442H0021, OEM AMM, SRM and ESPM
instructions.
(2) Install 3G/4G antenna bracket.
(1) Refer to Installation Drawing ST442H0007, OEM AMM and OEM SRM instructions.
(2) Prepare overhead bin end panel for CCP installation.
(3) Install CCP Blanking Panel, P/N ST442H0025-000, to cover prepared area using
Screws, P/N MS24693-51B.
Note: This step may be omitted if Modification STM80017A is being complied with
at the same time, as the CCP will be installed as part of STM80017A.
(1) Refer to Installation Drawing ST442H0004, OEM AMM, SRM and ESPM
instructions.
(2) Install WAP Mounting Plate and Brackets.
(3) Ensure the Earth Stud, Grounding Modules and Bonding Lead are installed in
accordance with OEM ESPM instructions.
(1) Refer to Installation drawing ST442H0004, OEM AMM, SRM and ESPM
instructions.
(2) Install WAP Mounting Plate and Brackets.
(3) Ensure the Earth Stud, Grounding Modules and Bonding Lead are installed in
accordance with OEM ESPM instructions.
(3) Refer to Installation drawing ST442H0004, OEM AMM, SRM and ESPM
instructions.
(4) Install WAP Mounting Plate and Brackets.
(5) Ensure the Earth Stud, Grounding Modules and Bonding Lead are installed in
accordance with OEM ESPM instructions.
I. Close up
(1) Ensure all work areas are clean and clear of debris, tools and miscellaneous
equipment.
(2) Refer to the relevant OEM AMM chapters for installation of equipment / access
panels as required.
J. Documentation
Aircraft records:
Update the relevant chapters within the existing aircraft documentation with the
information supplied with and as part of this SB (see para.1.J).
Note: Operators are also reminded that it is their responsibility to amend the aircraft
weight and balance report, if necessary, in accordance with the weight and
balance changes given at paragraph 1.F. of this SB.
3. MATERIAL
Note: The new part numbers shown in paragraph 3.A (1), 3.A (2), 3.A (3), 3.A (4) 3.A (5) and
3.A (6) are necessary to accomplish this SB on one aircraft. Use the material kit
number shown to order the parts.
A. (1) New parts supplied as material kit - order kit number 'STM80015A1'.
Note: Applicable to aircraft installing the server tray for the introduction of structural
provision for a wIFE system.
(2) New parts supplied as material kit – order kit number ‘STM80015A2’
Note: Applicable to aircraft installing the 3G/4G antenna mounting bracket for the
introduction of structural provision for a wIFE system.
(3) New parts supplied as material kit – order kit number ’STM80015A3’.
Note: Applicable to aircraft installing CCP for the introduction of structural provision
for a wIFE system.
(4) New parts supplied as material kit – order kit number ‘STM80015A4’.
Note: Applicable to aircraft installing WAP mounting plate between Frame 28 and
29 for the introduction of structural provision for a wIFE system.
(5) New parts supplied as material kit – order kit number ‘STM80015A5’.
Note: Applicable to aircraft installing WAP mounting plate between Frame 43 and
44 for the introduction of structural provision for a wIFE system.
(6) New parts supplied as material kit – order kit number ‘STM80015A6’.
Note: Applicable to aircraft installing WAP mounting plate between Frame 55 and
56 for the introduction of structural provision for a wIFE system.
