Ukay-ukay business

Profitable ba talaga ang UKAY-UKAY business?

I'm Paul, I had been into ukay-ukay business for 10 years already. I just want to share my
experience regarding ukay-ukay business.

May friend ako na nakabili ng bahay at car sa ukay business lang. Itinuro nya sa akin lahat ng
nalalaman nya about ukay kaya I just want to share it too.

First, if you want to start an ukay business, for a 20 sq. meters size of store, you must have a capital
of at least P40K for goods only. P8K for hangers, hanger racks, chair, orbit fan, etc., and P20K for at
least 2 months deposit of your chosen commercial space (let's assume that your rent is P10K/month).

Second, you should understand na ang mabenta lang na ukay-ukay items are from: US, Canada,
Europe & Japan.

Third, choose at least 6 items among the following items below; (45KGS BALE)

Ladies T-Shirts #1 (approx. 360 - 400pcs per bale)


Children's Shirts #1 (approx. 420 - 480pcs)
Original Shorts #1 (approx. 190 - 230pcs)
Bags #1 (approx. 100 - 140pcs)
Children Rummage #1 (approx. 380 - 450pcs)
Men's T Shirts #1 (approx. 190 - 230pcs)
Baby Rummage #1 (approx. 500 - 650pcs)
Bedsheets #1 (95 - 120pcs)
Shoes #1 (120 - 150 pairs)
Capri #1 (170 - 190 pcs)
Capri Shorts #1 (180 - 200pcs)
Dresses #1 ( 200 - 250pcs)
Winbreaker Jackets #1 (120 - 130pcs)

#1 or no. 1 (number 1) means Class A. Kapag sinabing class A hindi ibig sabihin class A na fakes or
imitations. Highest grade yan ng ukay-ukay, it means slightly used IMPORTED AND ORIGINAL na
surplus clothing. Kapag number 2 means class B, usually ito ang mga used.

Fourth, find a supplier who's willing to teach you some techniques in selling ukay, dahil mostly sa
kanila nagstart as retailer. Find suppliers of US, Canada, Europe and Japan items only. These items
are the most sellable items in the Philippines. Why? Dahil kilala natin ang mga brands from these
countries, at mahilig ang mga ukay patronizers sa mga brands na ito.

Fifth, dapat may target gross sales ka everyday.

For example: Nakakabenta ka ng average of P3K per day, magkano ang net profit mo? Minimum of
P1.5K per day. Why? Refer to the list of items above. price per bale times quantity per bale. Yan ang
capital for each item.

Sixth. Make a list of contact numbers of your customers, everytime na may bibili sa store mo kunin
mo ang mobile numbers nila para everytime na may new arrival ka itext mo sila. Dahil tinext mo sila,
mahihiya or matutuwa sila na inuuna mo sila kapag may new arrival ka kaya talagang bibili sila agad
dahil iniisip nila na nauna sila. Forevery New Arrival day, mahina ang P10K na benta sa 1 araw lang.
Ang ibang stores nakakabenta ng P15K to P30K sa first 3 days ng New arrival nila.

Seventh. Kapag nag-open ka ng bale, wag mo agad ilalaba lahat ng items, divide it into 3 parts at
yan unti-unti mong ilabas as new arrival once a week. Dapat CONSISTENT ka, kapag sinabi mong
New Arrival every Wednesday and Saturday dapat may ilalabas ka sa days na yan.

Eight. These brands of ukay bales ang mga kinukuha ko.

Delmar
American Mill
ABS
Atlantic
CanAm
Bell
AFC
etc.

Naparaming brands, basta from US, Canada, Europe and Japan lang na bales ang pinakamabentang
items.

Take note, marami nang yumaman sa ukay-ukay business, kailangan lang ang sipag at tyaga. I can't
refer anyone to any supplier. Marami namang suppliers, mag-ingat lang sa mga scammers.
