AGENDA

Mission – Edgewood ISD provides an exceptional learning experience that engages, empowers,

Lone Star Goals –


 The percentage of students in grades K-3 who are reading on or above grade level will
increase from 54% to 64% by the end of the school year 2022 (Baseline measure May
2017)
 The percentage of students in grades 3-8 who meet standard on reading STAAR will
increase from 61% to 68% by the end of the school year 2022 (Baseline – 2017 STAAR
English, STAAR Spanish and STAAR Alternative 2)
 The Four-Year Longitudinal Graduation Rate (Graduated, Continued in School, or
Received GED) will increase from 87.4% (Class of 2016 reported in 2017 to 90% (Class
of 2021 reported in 2022)

NOTICE:
a. The Board of Managers may go into executive session at any time during the meeting for
personnel, real estate, security, school children, negotiated contracts for prospective gifts or
donations, consultation and/or legal issues, or as otherwise permitted under the Open
Meetings Act, as set out in Subchapter 551 of Title 5 of the Texas Government Code.

b. Recess: The Board of Managers may recess the meeting at any time and reconvene the
meeting within 24 hours. The reconvened meeting will occur at the same location as the
original meeting and will address the original agenda without the need for reposting.

c. Any individual in need of services for the visually-impaired, the hearing-impaired, and/or
non-English speakers may call the Superintendent’s Office at 444-4520 by 12:00 p.m. on
the date of the meeting.

If, during the course of the meeting, discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in a
closed meeting, the board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open
Meetings Act, Government Code, Chapter 551, Subchapters D and E or Texas Government Code
section 418.183(f). Before any closed meeting is convened, the presiding officer will publicly
identify the section or sections of the Act authorizing the closed meeting. All final votes, actions,
or decisions will be taken in open meeting. [See BEC(LEGAL)]

Edgewood Independent School District, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), shall make accessible all open
meeting to those individuals with “disabilities” as defined by the ADA. Should such an individual require assistance in gaining access to an
open meeting, the individual is requested to notify the principal or facility manager as soon as possible.
