Frank Turner has announced details of his forthcoming seventh studio album. Be More Kind will be released on May 4th through Xtra Mile Recordings/Polydor Records. Months after
the release of Songbook, a career‐spanning retrospective which also saw reworked versions of tracks from across the past decade, Be More Kind represents a thematic and sonic line
in the sand for the 36‐year‐old. It’s a record that combines universal anthems with raw emotion and the political and the personal, with the intricate folk and punk roar trademarks of
Turner’s sound imbued with new, bold experimental shades. Be More Kind has been produced by Austin Jenkins and Joshua Block, formerly of psychedelic‐rock Texans White Denim,
and Florence And The Machine and Halsey collaborator Charlie Hugall. “I wanted to try and get out of my comfort zone and do something different,” says Turner.

Turner was halfway through writing a very different sort of album, a concept record about women from the historical record who had been ignored, when he was reading a collection
of Clive James’ poetry and one particular line compelled him to re‐think his direction. It was from a poem called Leçons Des Ténèbres: “I should have been more kind. It is my fate. To
find this out, but find it out too late.” “It devastated me the first time I read it,” he says. “A lot of older, wiser people tend to say things like that, that the things that come out in the
wash at the end of a human life are the way you treated the people around you. In the modern world, that’s a lesson that all of us, myself included could do to learn.”

Turner and his band, the Sleeping Souls, were on tour in the USA in 2016 “when the world decided to go collectively nuts” and the songs that make up Be More Kind started to come
together. “Somewhere in the record, there’s a convergence of the ideas of personal and political, which is a central theme of the album,” Turner says. One of the driving themes of the
album is empathy, even for your enemy. “You should at least be able to inhabit the mental universe of the people you disagree with. If you can’t do that, then how do you
communicate with people other than through force of arms, which is something we all agree is a bad idea.” Behind some of the best songs of Turner’s career is the idea that
the human race needs to find better ways of disagreeing than screaming each other down. Turner’s last two records, 2013’s Tape Deck Heart and 2015’s Positive Songs For Negative
People, dealt with the fallout from a break‐up and saw Turner struggling to cover the cracks in his personal life. Now happily in a relationship and living with his partner and their cat,
he again set his sights to the bigger picture.

The first track to be released from Be More Kind is 1933, a clattering, state‐of‐the‐nation anthem. Furious and direct, it’s inspired by articles Turner saw that suggested the alt‐right
was punk rock. “That filled me with a mixture of incredulity and anger,” says Turner. “The idea that Breitbart or Steve Bannon think they have anything to do with punk rock makes me
extremely angry.” The other theme in the track is summed up by the line, “If I was one of the greatest generation/I’d be pissed/I’d be screaming at my grandkids/that we already did
this.” “These ideas are surfacing again that collectively as a species we’ve already shot down,” says Turner.

After the stripped‐down, live‐sounding Positive Songs…, Turner wanted to try a new approach for the record. Originally, he contacted Jenkins and Block at their Niles City Sound studio
in Fort Worth, Texas with the idea of recording a white soul album in the vein of Dexys Midnight Runners. He found they were equally enthusiastic when he changed his mind and
decided he wanted to record a more rock‐led album with tints of electronic‐pop. “I have an obscure corner of my music taste where I’m into glitch electronic music and Warp
Records,” says Turner. “It’s not an electronic record but I got into arpeggiator synths.” Positive Songs… was cut in nine, intense days whereas Be More Kind was made over a period of
seven months, giving Turner the opportunity to turn songs on their head, try different versions and shake up the dynamics within his band.

Now he just has to work out how they are going to play them live. The Be More Kind World Tour will begin in April, with its first leg playing to over 200,000 people across the UK, the
USA, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, taking them through to Christmas. Turner promises that 2019 will include visits to some “slightly more weird and wonderful places.”
“My days of being engaged in an arms race to be the hardest touring musician in the universe are behind me now,” he says. “We’re going to tour hard but come home regularly in the
middle of it.” The first batch of announcements covers 120 dates. Some old habits die hard. These are songs that demand to be heard and Frank Turner is packed and ready to go.

Consisting of Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher, Aquilo are a British duo who make atmospheric, melancholy, downtempo
electronic pop songs. Nearly all of their songs are about heartbreak, loss, and regret, but songs such as "Human"
(produced by kindred spirit Sohn) contain a small flicker of hope. Hailing from the village of Silverdale in northern
England, the duo played in harder‐edged rock bands, often sharing gigs, before beginning to write softer material as solo
artists. They came across one another's music online, and seeing that they lived close to each other, a collaboration was
natural. They began writing songs as Aquilo in 2013, and released a self‐titled EP in early 2014. The songs immediately
received attention from blogs, and "You There" received BBC Radio 1 airplay. The duo appeared on the BBC Introducing
stage at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival, and their performance was received warmly. Island Records signed the duo and
released their second EP, Human, by the end of the year. The duo contributed to Madeon's debut album, Adventure, in
early 2015, and a collaboration with Vanic titled "Losing You" appeared online, receiving millions of hits. Aquilo's third
EP, Calling Me, appeared in June of 2015. Painting Pictures of a War, an EP of previously released singles, was released at
the end of the year. In early 2016, the duo moved to London and released a live EP titled Midnight. Their hotly
anticipated debut album, Silhouettes, featuring production from the likes of Lexxx, Johnny McDaid, and Ólafur Arnalds,
dropped in early 2017. In September of that year, Aquilo returned with the lush single "I Could Fight on a Wall." ~ Paul

Key Points:
One of the leading figures (arguably the leading figure, at least from a musical perspective) in the history of Norwegian black metal, Ihsahn ‐‐ born Vegard Sverre
Tveitan, in Notodden, Norway, in 1975 ‐‐ is best known as the singer, guitarist, and lead composer of the legendary band Emperor. That band, which would go on
to earn Ihsahn and its members the highest of honors in the metal community, was born out of the demise of the group formation of an earlier project entitled
Thou Shalt Suffer. That project was formed in 1991, after Ihsahn and Samoth (Tomas Haugen) met at a music conference as teenagers. Thou Shalt Suffer
managed to release a handful of demos before Samoth took leave of the group, and Ihsahn set the idea aside as a solo side project. Eventually, the two kindred
spirits would work together again in the aforementioned Emperor, a band whose early lineup included Ihsahn, Samoth, Faust (Bård Eithun), and Mortiis.

With much of the black metal establishment in Norway (these were the days of Euronymous and a pre‐murder and nationalist Varg Vikernes) fully behind the
work Emperor was doing, the band released the groundbreaking EP Emperor in 1993. Their critically acclaimed full‐length debut, In the Nightside Eclipse, was
released in 1994, but the band's momentum was stalled by the jailing of Faust and Samoth in the wave of violence that was prevalent in Norwegian black metal
at the time. Ihsahn soldiered on, and ‐‐ on his own (Mortiis was an early defector from the Emperor ranks, choosing to embark on a more theatrical solo project) ‐
‐ composed much of what would be Emperor's follow‐up, Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, released in 1997. During the late '90s, Ihsahn also appeared on a
number of different projects outside of Emperor, including Zyklon‐B (which was a mélange of members of Emperor and Satyricon) and the Peccatum project
(which formed in 1998), an experimental group that was made up of Ihsahn and his wife Ihriel (real name: Heidi Tveitan).

Ihsahn made two full‐length appearances in 1999, the debut full‐length with Peccatum entitled Strangling from Within, and the next acclaimed Emperor full‐
length, IX Equilibrium. Ihsahn and Emperor would release two more albums over the next couple of years, 2000's live Emperial Live Ceremony (which also saw a
DVD release) and 2001's Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire & Demise. While both would garner Emperor and Ihsahn further acclaim, that was to be the end ‐‐
somewhat ‐‐ of Emperor, as the band decided ‐‐ following the release of Prometheus ‐‐ to call it a day. Although a compilation of the band's work would surface
in 2003, and the band would play a handful of shows in 2006, Ihsahn's attention shifted in focus to Peccatum. The project released album number two, Amor
Fati, in 2001, followed by 2004's Lost in Reverie.

In 2002 Ihsahn was the proud recipient of an award by his home city, recognizing him as one of the area's leading musical artists and cultural figures. After the
2005 EP The Moribund People with Peccatum, Ihsahn began work on what would be his solo full‐length debut. The album, 2006's The Adversary, featuring a
collaboration with Ulver's Kristoffer Rygg and the percussion work of Asgeir Mickelson, was released on his own label, Mnemosyne, as well as seeing
international distribution on Candlelight. The album, the first in a series of three planned conceptual pieces, received rave reviews, and was followed up in 2008
with the sophomore solo release AngL, which featured a collaboration with Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt. The year 2010 saw the release of the final album in the
trilogy, After, which featured a guest appearance from Shining frontman and saxophonist Jørgen Munkeby. Devin Townsend and Nevermore's Jeff Loomis
appeared on 2012's Eremita, and the following year's Das Seelenbrechen, which drew inspiration from artists like Scott Walker and Diamanda Galás, saw Ihsahn
exploring more improvisational and dark ambient territories. Ihsahn issued his sixth solo studio long‐player, Arktis, via Candlelight in early 2016. ~ Chris True

Formed in 2008, the Word Alive are a metalcore band based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Originally founded by singer Craig
Mabbitt and guitarists Zack Hansen and Tony Pizzuti, the band served as a side project for Mabbitt, who joined Escape the
Fate around the same time. Filling out their membership with bassist Nick Urlacher, drummer Tony Aguilera, and
keyboardist Dusty Riach, the band began to develop a sound, though their progress was stunted by Mabbitt's rigorous
touring schedule, causing the band to bring in vocalist Tyler Smith to replace him. With Smith in place, things began to move
quickly for the Word Alive, who signed on with Fearless Records, which would release their Empire EP in 2009. After hitting
the road, the Word Alive released their full‐length debut, Deceiver, in 2010, a year that would also see them parting ways
with Aguilera and Urlacher, who were replaced by bassist Daniel Shapiro and drummer Justin Salinas (though his time with
the band would be short‐lived, with drummer Luke Holland stepping in to replace him just two years later when Salinas grew
tired of life on the road). A second album, the darker and heavier Life Cycles, followed in 2012. The Word Alive continued to
mature their sound, returning in 2014 with Real, an album that found the band developing a more nuanced and atmospheric
take on the genre. 2015 saw the band continuing a grueling tour schedule that included international appearances in Hong
Kong, Bangkok, and the Phillipines. In November of that year, their dedication to fans was tested when vocalist Smith broke
his back and several ribs during a stage‐diving incident and still insisted on honoring every remaining date on the tour.

Roanoke, VA based indie rock band Eternal Summers returns with their 5th album. "I've never thought too hard about what our albums

based noise pop, power rock trio Eternal Summers. And if you haven't heard of Eternal Summers, you'll have a lot of catching up to do.

Frank Turner has announced details of his forthcoming seventh studio album. Be More Kind will be released on May 4th through Xtra Mile Recordings/Polydor Records. Months after
the release of Songbook, a career‐spanning retrospective which also saw reworked versions of tracks from across the past decade, Be More Kind represents a thematic and sonic line
in the sand for the 36‐year‐old. It’s a record that combines universal anthems with raw emotion and the political and the personal, with the intricate folk and punk roar trademarks of
Turner’s sound imbued with new, bold experimental shades. Be More Kind has been produced by Austin Jenkins and Joshua Block, formerly of psychedelic‐rock Texans White Denim,
and Florence And The Machine and Halsey collaborator Charlie Hugall. “I wanted to try and get out of my comfort zone and do something different,” says Turner.

Turner was halfway through writing a very different sort of album, a concept record about women from the historical record who had been ignored, when he was reading a collection
of Clive James’ poetry and one particular line compelled him to re‐think his direction. It was from a poem called Leçons Des Ténèbres: “I should have been more kind. It is my fate. To
find this out, but find it out too late.” “It devastated me the first time I read it,” he says. “A lot of older, wiser people tend to say things like that, that the things that come out in the
wash at the end of a human life are the way you treated the people around you. In the modern world, that’s a lesson that all of us, myself included could do to learn.”

Turner and his band, the Sleeping Souls, were on tour in the USA in 2016 “when the world decided to go collectively nuts” and the songs that make up Be More Kind started to come
together. “Somewhere in the record, there’s a convergence of the ideas of personal and political, which is a central theme of the album,” Turner says. One of the driving themes of the
album is empathy, even for your enemy. “You should at least be able to inhabit the mental universe of the people you disagree with. If you can’t do that, then how do you
communicate with people other than through force of arms, which is something we all agree is a bad idea.” Behind some of the best songs of Turner’s career is the idea that
the human race needs to find better ways of disagreeing than screaming each other down. Turner’s last two records, 2013’s Tape Deck Heart and 2015’s Positive Songs For Negative
People, dealt with the fallout from a break‐up and saw Turner struggling to cover the cracks in his personal life. Now happily in a relationship and living with his partner and their cat,
he again set his sights to the bigger picture.

The first track to be released from Be More Kind is 1933, a clattering, state‐of‐the‐nation anthem. Furious and direct, it’s inspired by articles Turner saw that suggested the alt‐right
was punk rock. “That filled me with a mixture of incredulity and anger,” says Turner. “The idea that Breitbart or Steve Bannon think they have anything to do with punk rock makes me
extremely angry.” The other theme in the track is summed up by the line, “If I was one of the greatest generation/I’d be pissed/I’d be screaming at my grandkids/that we already did
this.” “These ideas are surfacing again that collectively as a species we’ve already shot down,” says Turner.

After the stripped‐down, live‐sounding Positive Songs…, Turner wanted to try a new approach for the record. Originally, he contacted Jenkins and Block at their Niles City Sound studio
in Fort Worth, Texas with the idea of recording a white soul album in the vein of Dexys Midnight Runners. He found they were equally enthusiastic when he changed his mind and
decided he wanted to record a more rock‐led album with tints of electronic‐pop. “I have an obscure corner of my music taste where I’m into glitch electronic music and Warp
Records,” says Turner. “It’s not an electronic record but I got into arpeggiator synths.” Positive Songs… was cut in nine, intense days whereas Be More Kind was made over a period of
seven months, giving Turner the opportunity to turn songs on their head, try different versions and shake up the dynamics within his band.

Now he just has to work out how they are going to play them live. The Be More Kind World Tour will begin in April, with its first leg playing to over 200,000 people across the UK, the
USA, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, taking them through to Christmas. Turner promises that 2019 will include visits to some “slightly more weird and wonderful places.”
“My days of being engaged in an arms race to be the hardest touring musician in the universe are behind me now,” he says. “We’re going to tour hard but come home regularly in the
middle of it.” The first batch of announcements covers 120 dates. Some old habits die hard. These are songs that demand to be heard and Frank Turner is packed and ready to go.

Key Points:
Consisting of Tom Higham and Ben Fletcher, Aquilo are a British duo who make atmospheric, melancholy, downtempo
electronic pop songs. Nearly all of their songs are about heartbreak, loss, and regret, but songs such as "Human"
(produced by kindred spirit Sohn) contain a small flicker of hope. Hailing from the village of Silverdale in northern
England, the duo played in harder‐edged rock bands, often sharing gigs, before beginning to write softer material as solo
artists. They came across one another's music online, and seeing that they lived close to each other, a collaboration was
natural. They began writing songs as Aquilo in 2013, and released a self‐titled EP in early 2014. The songs immediately
received attention from blogs, and "You There" received BBC Radio 1 airplay. The duo appeared on the BBC Introducing
stage at the 2014 Glastonbury Festival, and their performance was received warmly. Island Records signed the duo and
released their second EP, Human, by the end of the year. The duo contributed to Madeon's debut album, Adventure, in
early 2015, and a collaboration with Vanic titled "Losing You" appeared online, receiving millions of hits. Aquilo's third
EP, Calling Me, appeared in June of 2015. Painting Pictures of a War, an EP of previously released singles, was released at
the end of the year. In early 2016, the duo moved to London and released a live EP titled Midnight. Their hotly
anticipated debut album, Silhouettes, featuring production from the likes of Lexxx, Johnny McDaid, and Ólafur Arnalds,
dropped in early 2017. In September of that year, Aquilo returned with the lush single "I Could Fight on a Wall." ~ Paul

Key Points:
One of the leading figures (arguably the leading figure, at least from a musical perspective) in the history of Norwegian black metal, Ihsahn ‐‐ born
Vegard Sverre Tveitan, in Notodden, Norway, in 1975 ‐‐ is best known as the singer, guitarist, and lead composer of the legendary band Emperor. That
band, which would go on to earn Ihsahn and its members the highest of honors in the metal community, was born out of the demise of the group
formation of an earlier project entitled Thou Shalt Suffer. That project was formed in 1991, after Ihsahn and Samoth (Tomas Haugen) met at a music
conference as teenagers. Thou Shalt Suffer managed to release a handful of demos before Samoth took leave of the group, and Ihsahn set the idea aside
as a solo side project. Eventually, the two kindred spirits would work together again in the aforementioned Emperor, a band whose early lineup included
Ihsahn, Samoth, Faust (Bård Eithun), and Mortiis.

With much of the black metal establishment in Norway (these were the days of Euronymous and a pre‐murder and nationalist Varg Vikernes) fully
behind the work Emperor was doing, the band released the groundbreaking EP Emperor in 1993. Their critically acclaimed full‐length debut, In the
Nightside Eclipse, was released in 1994, but the band's momentum was stalled by the jailing of Faust and Samoth in the wave of violence that was
prevalent in Norwegian black metal at the time. Ihsahn soldiered on, and ‐‐ on his own (Mortiis was an early defector from the Emperor ranks, choosing
to embark on a more theatrical solo project) ‐‐ composed much of what would be Emperor's follow‐up, Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, released in
1997. During the late '90s, Ihsahn also appeared on a number of different projects outside of Emperor, including Zyklon‐B (which was a mélange of
members of Emperor and Satyricon) and the Peccatum project (which formed in 1998), an experimental group that was made up of Ihsahn and his wife
Ihriel (real name: Heidi Tveitan).

Ihsahn made two full‐length appearances in 1999, the debut full‐length with Peccatum entitled Strangling from Within, and the next acclaimed Emperor
full‐length, IX Equilibrium. Ihsahn and Emperor would release two more albums over the next couple of years, 2000's live Emperial Live Ceremony
(which also saw a DVD release) and 2001's Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire & Demise. While both would garner Emperor and Ihsahn further acclaim,
that was to be the end ‐‐ somewhat ‐‐ of Emperor, as the band decided ‐‐ following the release of Prometheus ‐‐ to call it a day. Although a compilation
of the band's work would surface in 2003, and the band would play a handful of shows in 2006, Ihsahn's attention shifted in focus to Peccatum. The
project released album number two, Amor Fati, in 2001, followed by 2004's Lost in Reverie.

In 2002 Ihsahn was the proud recipient of an award by his home city, recognizing him as one of the area's leading musical artists and cultural figures.
After the 2005 EP The Moribund People with Peccatum, Ihsahn began work on what would be his solo full‐length debut. The album, 2006's The
Adversary, featuring a collaboration with Ulver's Kristoffer Rygg and the percussion work of Asgeir Mickelson, was released on his own label,
Mnemosyne, as well as seeing international distribution on Candlelight. The album, the first in a series of three planned conceptual pieces, received rave
reviews, and was followed up in 2008 with the sophomore solo release AngL, which featured a collaboration with Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt. The year
2010 saw the release of the final album in the trilogy, After, which featured a guest appearance from Shining frontman and saxophonist Jørgen
Munkeby. Devin Townsend and Nevermore's Jeff Loomis appeared on 2012's Eremita, and the following year's Das Seelenbrechen, which drew
inspiration from artists like Scott Walker and Diamanda Galás, saw Ihsahn exploring more improvisational and dark ambient territories. Ihsahn issued his
sixth solo studio long‐player, Arktis, via Candlelight in early 2016. ~ Chris True

Doro Pesch started revolutionizing metal music back in the 80s with Warlock to pave the way for women in the male‐dominated world of music.
After Warlock’s split in the late 80s, Doro continued with a successful solo career under her own name, continuing to release albums of epic
Heavy Metal anthems stamped with her unmistakable vocals. With 2004’s “Classic Diamonds”, she revisited a selection of Warlock classics as well
as some of her solo material and collaborated with The Classic Night Orchestra for the re‐recordings. These adaptations show with excellent
musicianship and a great production shining through overall. For anyone who hasn’t heard anything by Warlock or Doro, “Classic Diamonds”

Roanoke, VA based indie rock band Eternal Summers returns with their 5th album. "I've never thought too hard about what our albums
should sound like before they are written. I just trust instinct to lead the way." That is the philosphy of Nicole Yun of Roanoke, Virginia
based noise pop, power rock trio Eternal Summers. And if you haven't heard of Eternal Summers, you'll have a lot of catching up to do.
On June 2, 2015, they will release their fourth full‐length album "Gold and Stone" due out on their longtime label, Brooklyn based indie,
Kanine Records.

Having formed in 2009, Eternal Summers has now been operating as the trio of Nicole Yun, Daniel Cundiff and Jonathan Woods longer
than they did as a duo without Jonathan. Long gone are the days of the Roanoke based collective known as the Magic Twig Community
that saw the handful of like‐minded indie artists working together; but what has grown in place is a band that stands on its own, in the
words of All Music, "The kind that other bands will look to for inspiration 20 years later."

With several previous releases, there has already been a lot said about Eternal Summers music. From the crafty minimalism on their
debut Silver, to the dream punk sheen on 2012's breakout Correct Behavior, to the guitar driven power on The Drop Beneath, the
evolution of Eternal Summers marks a band that embraces both anthemic rock and bittersweet ballads ‐ a band that is grounded in
jangle pop but with an added depth that rewards on repeated listens.

In the five years following his last solo album Moon People, Nickodemus has continued to spread his global sound through endless DJ
tours, recording in studios, and scouting new music for his acclaimed Wonderwheel label. He’s made some new friends along the way
too, with his constant journeying helping culminate in the new full‐length A Long Engagement, a sonic portrait of 25 years of connecting
people through music.

Nickodemus has been active touring the entire globe since the mid 90s; as a producer he's released three albums, remixes for everyone
from Bob Marley to Thievery Corporation, and 10 Turntables on the Hudson compilations that have established him as a seasoned
musical traveler who excels most when playing in diverse settings that thrive on vibrant sounds. His new work is the latest chapter of his

Throughout the 13 tracks of A Long Engagement, Nickodemus reflects on his rich history working in NYC club music and around the
world, including some fresher analog sounds alongside collaborators new and old. Highlights include a new track with Carol C, who sang
on cult classics like “Cleopatra in New York” and “Mariposa," three tracks with Brooklyn's afro‐beat group Antibalas, and the soulful
house keys of New York native Victor Axelrod. You’ll also hear Grammy nominated Innov Gnawa on the thumping dance‐floor version of
"Mystic Molay,” while Ninja Tune revered vocalist Grey Reverend lends a soulful vocal to album’s finale 'Music Man.” Like all of

Nightseeker is a real life band featuring the fictional character Dean from the Fubar movies. Like Alice Cooper, Dean Murdoch is the

direction of one of Pärt’s most trusted colleagues, Tõnu Kaljuste. Heard in chronological order they also
