CONSTRUCTION METHODOLOGY

A) SITEWORKS
Ground is to be stripped of loose soil and vegetation. Stripped off soils shall be protected and maintained for
future use as landscaping material. Manual Excavation will be done at a level of 1.8 m below the natural ground line.
Fill and backfill works will be done using suitable materials from approved borrow pit areas in addition to the
site excavated soil. Backfill materials shall be free from rocks, wood scraps, vegetation, and other materials such as
large clods of earth or stone greater than 100 mm in diameter. Backfill materials shall be compacted to at least 95
percent grading in the areas indicated in the plan shall be observed. Ground slab shall be poured over gravel fill of
50mm thick after reinforcement bars has been placed.
B) FOUNDATION
Foundation are reinforced concrete. It is to be concreted using site mixed concrete. Mixing of concrete shall
be done by concrete mixers.
C) SUPERSTRUCTURE
1)FRAMES
-Reinforced concrete frames shall be cast in place. A portalift will be used in lifting side mixed concrete. Site
mixed concrete will consist of cement, sand, gravel and water mixed by a machine mixer. Lumber (2”’x2” and 2”x3”)
will be used as staging and scaffolds for plywood and timber forms. Beams and slabs shall be poured monolithically.
2) STAIRS AND SLABS
- Slabs and stairs will be cast in place. Roof deck slab shall be poured monolithic as much as possible,
otherwise water stop will be provided on construction joints. Integral water proof will be mixed with the concrete.
3) MASONRY WALLS
- Concrete hollow blocks, internal shall be installed as soon as the frame gained their strength, and after wall
footing has been poured, provided the site is clear of scaffolds. CHB at the first floor level, internal and external, shall
be installed after the wall footings are laid. CHB at higher floors must be erected after the slabs and beams had gained
their one hundred percent strength. Scaffolds should have been removed but props are still present to support the
beams and slabs.
4) INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL FINISHES
- Plastering will start as soon as walls are present and only electrical and plumbing rough-ins are placed.
Scratch coat for comfort room walls shall be done only when plumbing and electrical rough-in are present.
Floor finishes is to be installed after wall finishes except painting has been done.
Painting shall be done only after the floors, wall finishes, doors and windows installation are done.
5) THERMAL AND MOISTURE PROTECTION
- Water proofing admixtures will be mixed prior to pouring of concrete.
