In a small forest, there was a firefly were lived with his mother. His name is Kukun, he is a weak
firefly who has no luminescent of him since he was born. When he was a teenager, he has no friends. He
was sad to mother and locked his room for a whole day.
Mother was worried about what is going on him. “Kukun, why you are not going out from your
room and take a meal for a while?” Mother knocked his door and try to pursue him out from the room. “I
will put the meal out of your door, so you can take it when you want. Kukun was unable to say “Yes I will
mom” his mouth was locked and his heart was too ego to kick out the bad things run on his mind. He just
take the meal when the days gone to be midnight. “I don’t want to come out the room, till you were die !”
“This is my worse life! I am just flawed boy! No one cares me!” He said when mother try a thousand time
to make him out from his room. The condition were going bad.
Day by day run, mom never gave him a meal again. “It is strange, why mom didn’t give me meal
for three days?’ I can’t hear her anything!” He was so hungry, and this condition makes him want to go
out from his room. So unexpectedly and dramatic, he caught his mom dead with a letter on her hand.And
the letter shows;
“Dear My Lovely Kukun, I don’t know what was going on me. I had checked my health to the doctor
when you just locked your room. Doctor said to me that I got cancer. It is final stadium. So my life is just
in a couple of months. I am so sorry that I got accident when you are in pregnancy And your dad was dead
You got the physical defect after it. It was not easy to make you understand. That luminescent was you,
not what you just think. That I love you till the day ends Forever”. Kukun was shocked and clutched her
tight.

The Spindle, the Spool, and the Needle
All alone in the world, a young girl once lived in a small house in the middle of the woods. She was
very poor, but she knew how to sew and, because she was very hard working and clever, she managed to
earn her living by using her spindle, her spool and her needle.
One day, looking for a wife, a young prince came to the village asking who was the most beautiful
and industriousyoung girl in the place. Many girls were pointed out to him, the richest and the most elegant
ones, but nobody thought of the poor young seamstress. Only objects that she used in her daily work thought
of her. The spindle jumped out of her hand and ran off through the woods, pulling a long golden thread
behind it. The spool also jumped away, but it stopped outside the door and wove a lovely rug. The needle
began to dance wildly in the amazed young girl’s fingers, and made tablecloths, curtains, and cushions,
transforming the poor little house into a pretty and welcoming one. When the spindle and the golden thread
led the prince to her door later, the lovely little seamstress and her pretty house pleased him so much that he
never left her side again.

Takatuliang, the Woodcarver

Long, long time ago on the island of Simbau, in the Sulawesi Sea, there lived a king and his
beautiful daughter. The princess was not only beautiful, but she was also wise and kind.
Many princes wanted to marry the king’s daughter and this made the king confused. He, then
announced a contest: whoever presented the princess with the most valuable gift would marry her.
Takatuliang, a poor woodcarver, wanted to join the contest but he was so poor that he had nothing
to present. Then, he went far into the forest. There he chose the best tree and carved it into a doll. Next, he
took an old piece of cloth and sewed into a dress for the doll. After that, he cut his own hair and glued it
to the doll’s head.
On the day of the contest, all the princes gathered before the king and the princess. One by one,
they presented their gifts: diamonds, silk, gold, jewlry. Then came Takatuliang’s turn.
‘What do you have?’ asked the princess.
‘I bring only a doll,’ said Takatuliang softly.
‘How many dolls like this do you have?’ asked the princess again.
‘Only this one. I carved it myself and decorated it with my own hair and my father’s old cloth. He died
and this is the only thing he left me,’ answered Takatuliang.
The princess was very touched to hear Takatuliang’s story. She decided to marry Takatuliang
because he presented her everything he had. Together, Takatuliang and the princess lived happily ever
after.

ANZAC BISCUITS

You will need:


• 2 cups of rolled oats
• 1,5 cups of caster sugar
• 4 tablespoons of golden syrup
• 2 tablespoons of boiling water
• 1 cup of plain flour
• 250 grams of butter
• 1 teaspoon of baking soda
Steps:
1. Turn on the oven 160o C.
2. Lightly grease an oven tray.
3. Mix oats, flour and sugar in a large bowl.
4. Melt butter and golden syrup in a pan.
5. Mix baking soda and boiling water in a cup.
6. Add this mixture to melted butter and golden syrup.
7. Add this to the oats mixture in the large bowl, mix together well.
8. Roll tablespoonfuls of the mixture into balls. Put on the try 5 cm apart.
9. Press lightly on top of each with a fork.
10. Bake for 20 minutes.

could not do anything.
One day, a butterfly’s queen came closer. “Hi Princess Eureka, why don’t you go to school today,
and it is the second week you didn’t go to school, what happens my little princess?” said Sisy the
butterfly’s queen. “I’m bored and tired with the school activities. Every day I have to study reading and
Mathematics.” Sisy smiled and said,” Do you want to be a beautiful girl and everybody admires you?”.
“Of course, could you tell me how?” she answered charmingly. “Listen to me dear, before I’m getting this
beauty I was an ugly creature. Everybody doesn’t like me till I had to do a hard process when I was a
chrysalis. Finally, I become a beautiful creature that everyone loves, said Sisy. “So what’s the problem?”
Princess Eureka was curious. ”It has been days you don’t go to school. It means you avoid the process that
will make you be a beautiful and awesome princess. The hard process that makes you to be somebody not
nobody.”, Sisy answered. “Will the studying process at school make me an awesome princess?”, asked
Princess Eureka. “Yes you are right”, said Sisy. “OK, I’ll go to school tomorrow”, Princess Eureka said
charmingly.
The next day Princess Eureka wanted to go to school and studied hard. It made the king Tam and

DURIAN
Durian is classified as Durio zibethinus. It is native to Southeast Asia. Durian is known as”King
of Fruit”. It is not only the most expensive fruit but also the most controversial fruit. It is only fruit which
banned from airlined cabins, hotels and some public transport.
The durian tree is large and very tall. It can grow up to 25-50 meters and it has green elliptic
leaves. A durian tree usually can bear fruit after four or five years. The durian fruit, which can hang from
any branches, matures in about tree months after pollination. The fruit can grow 30 centimeters long and
15 centimeters in diameters. The husk is covered with sharp thorns. The color of the husk ranges from
green to brown. The flesh is pale yellow. It is very soft but not juicy. When it is ripe, it tastes sweet and
smells very strong.
Durian contains a lot of sugar, vitamin C, and potassium. Durian is also a good source of
carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Durian is usually eaten fresh. Sometimes it is also cooked to make
“dodol” or jam.
Durian used to be grown from seed, but now it is propagated by grafting.
