Concepts
Once children are confident with adding and subtracting numbers up to ten the
next stage is to introduce addition of ten to a number. Before doing this
children should be confident with counting in the teens.

Subtraction develops by taking ten from a teens number.

Once again lots of oral work needs to be done with these and children will
probably need the aid of a number line to begin with.
