Leslie Branch�Wise came to the Internal Affairs Bureau to talk about

some problems she · has experieneed working in the Executive Security Unit I
interviewed Det. Branch�Wise on that date, and again on 05�17�12. Her interviews are
summarized as follows:

Commander Klee was present during this interview.

Det. Branch .. Wise stated that she spoke with her sergeant, Sgt. xxxxx , on 05-15-12
and told him that she wants to transfer out of the unit and back to the detective bureau.
Sho stated she wanted to transfer because of s<.wne things that have happened involving
others in the unit.
On 05-16�12, she spoke with xxxx and she told him .about some of the problems she
has had. Det. Branch�Wise stated that several times when she was in training, she was
told to arrive at the City and County Building at a certain time. Whoo she arrived at the
appropriate time, she found that the unit had ah:eady left without her. Someone on the
Mayor's staff told her that the other detectives in the unit wtfre purposefltlly giving her
inaccurate times so that she would be left behind. She identified xxxx as the
detective who �ave her the inaccurate times.

She and xxxx started working in the unit at the same time.

Det. Branch�Wise also stated that she was told by xxxx and two members of the
mayoral staff that xxxx had been �alking about her: She stated that she was told that
xxxx had been saying that she couldn't protect the mayor, that he didn't know why she
was there, and that she doesn't do her advances, She stated that she got angry about it
�nd confronted xxxx about it. xxxx admitted to her that he shouldn't have said what he
said, but that it has been ongoing.

Det. Branch-Wise also stated that Det. xxxx recently complained about her showing up
on time to her assignments rather thon showing up early to relieve the other detectives.

Det. Branch-Wise stated that the incidents involving xxxx all happened shortly after
she was assigned to the unit. She did not hear from xxxx that he had similar
experiences;
Det. Branch-Wise stated that she heard about what xxxx was saying about lter around
Novembel'. or December of 2011.

Det. Branch-Wise also talked about how on one occasion when she was i1l and needed
some time off: she heard from xxxx that xxxx was talking badly about her needing to
take time off.
Det. Branch�Wisc wa5; asked about the atmosphere in the ESU, and she said that when
she was in Child Abuse, it was like a family. In the ESU, she feels like she was riot
someone that the others wanted to work with and she feels like she doesn't have any
aUfos in the unit, especially since xxxx iB now leaving tlm unit. She feels like she is a
scapegoat for everything and that she gets dumped on,

Det, Branch-Wise stated that at times she feels that she is being targeted by the others in
the unit because she is a woman.

Dct. Branchffl Wise stated that she felt that xxxx had authority over her prior to xxxx's
assignment to the unit. She stated that she hasn't had direct problems with xxxx but
she knows that he is very close to xxxx so she comliders the two of them as· one mid
the same. She has not had any problems with xxxx.
Det. Branc:h-Wise named other people that she has spoken with about the problems she
has been having. She named xxxx, xxxx, and xxxx.
