Dance Choreography / Performance
Paper focused on the field of Dance Choreography and
Performance, day to day tasks of a choreographer and steps it
takes in creating a dance piece for a performance.
Choreographing for this years school musical which is “The
Addams Family.” I will be choreographing and teaching
multiple dance pieces to the cast of the show, to help create the
storyline of the musical “The Addams Family.” There is no pre
established choreography for the show. I plan to demonstrate the
creative process of musical dance choreography.
Auditions for the school musical are after Christmas break and
the show is on March 23-25. It will take about 2 months to
prepare the choreography and teach it to the cast.
There will most likely be no cost / investment.

Product Description:

For my product, I will be choreographing most of the school musical, “The Addams Family”. I will
choreograph and teach a small portion of a dance to students auditioning for the musical after
Christmas break. Following the casting, I will have about two months to choreograph and teach
dances for each song to all of the cast. I will take pictures and videos of rehearsals for the actual
product. I will show a sample video of the stage production to the judges. I will also show you my
own personal notes as the choreographer, and how I planned the dance number(s). I plan to create
a video log of the creative process (from initial audition choreograph, up through the final school
musical production).
