Welcome Speech
A very Good Morning to Mr Lee, Kiryu San, Ms Tan, HODs and my fellow
colleagues.
We are all gathered here this morning to celebrate Secom Malaysia’s 27th
anniversary.
Let me bring you back in time to when Secom was first founded.
SECOM was founded by Makoto Lida in 1962 as the first security company in
Japan. In 1966, Secom Japan developed the first on-line security system for
commercial use in Japan and built a country-wide infrastructure.
Years later, Secom (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was established on the 1st of April 1991.
Since then, Koperasi Polis Diraja Malaysia (KPDRM) has also been associated
with the company. It did not take long for Secom Malaysia to obtain its first
customer. On the 1st of May 1991 which is the first day of operation, the first
customer of Secom Malaysia were 5 branches of Asia Commercial Finance, and
the first service provided by Secom to them were alarm system and access
control. At that time Secom has only 5 staff.
Throughout the years, Secom Malaysia has undergone a remarkable
transformation from its humble beginning with only 1 subscriber and 5staff to
where we are today having more than 4000 subscribers and 700 staffs with 16
response depot all over Malaysia.
With this partnership with Koperasi Polis Diraja Malaysia (KPDRM), Secom
Japan and The Lion Group, Secom Malaysia has provided a high level of
security services to many industrial and commercial sectors, creating a safe
and secure environment for their business to grow and prosper in Malaysia.

Let us all continue to deliver quality services and PEACE OF MIND to our
customers. With that, I hope to see everyone here next year in our 28th
Anniversary celebration.
