The COURAGE project is a 3-year programme of research and development undertaken by


partnership of five institutions integrating educational, youth, sports and other activities in
engaging harder to reach young people. The Conference is suitable for youth and
community workers, school leaders and teachers, trainers, and coaches, and any
Organisations working with young people. Clare Youth Service and our International
Partners invite you to take part in the COURAGE Conference and Course.

Participation is free but booking is essential as places are limited.

 The COURAGE Film - Telling the story about the project. How we work and what we have achieved.
 Course director of the Doctorate Programme in Clinical Psychology, Dr Patrick Ryan, University of
Limerick, speaks about engaging harder to reach young people.
 Partners from five countries presenting their case studies:
 Denmark – Motivation & Learning through Computer Games. Working with Gamers.
 Lithuania – Youth engagement through Dance.
 Norway – MOT, A personal development programme for Schools & Engagement through Sport with
the SK Hauger soccer Club.
 Portugal – Orquestra Geraҫão, Engagement through music & School retention through sport with the
Benfica Foundation.
 Ireland – Developmental Groupwork and participation through Outdoor Programmes and Sport.
 How sport can be an important player in the Youth Education Game. Samir Singh of Arsenal AFC in
the Community.
 Time for conversation and learning with regard to the Erasmus+ Programme and how it might benefit
your organisation.
