4 Objectives

The general objective of the project is to develop a surveillance and forecasting system for

students who are wearing and not wearing school uniform in the University of Southeastern

Philippines. Specifically, this project seeks to attain the following:

 To utilize the surveillance camera as a primary tool for monitoring and detecting the

students who are wearing and not wearing school uniform inside the campus.

 To extract footages of the students who are wearing and not wearing school uniform

 To gather data from the extracted footages.

 To generate a forecast to predict what will be the future result base on the data that was

gathered.

 To give a suggestion on what actions to take in order to improve the implementation of

the University’s dress code policy base on the data that was gathered.

1.5 Scope and Limitations

This system is set to observe a group house of broiler chicken that is being feed in an exact

time duration. There will be a surveillance camera installed on the top of the cage and it will

capture the chickens during feed time. In this research, we set a criteria for our system to recognize

if the chicken is potentially ill or not. Whenever the chicken is infected with disease like Bird flu,

it usually becomes very weak to make it move. Its appetite also gets damaged in the process, and

hence it stops feeding [11]. Lack of appetite and energy or staying in one place during feed time

will be our indicator. These symptoms are the must watch symptoms in chickens because it may

be an indication that it is infected with a disease. If this is observed in a flock of chickens,

immediate actions to further prevent the diseases from spreading must be taken [12]. Also this
symptoms is commonly present in every diseases. For example in Avian Flu or Bird Flu, lack of

appetite and energy is one of the common symptoms that can be observed in chickens infected

with this virus.

The research is only limited to the following:

 The capture of chicken in the cage during feed time and gathering of images as a data

input;

 The implementation of the system that will detect the indication of early sign of illness;

 The implementation of notification to be send to the farmer when it detect an early sign

of illness.

To implement the system, it is important that everything is set in the right place. Especially

the surveillance camera’s position. It is important that it is tangible and located at the top of the

cage to have a better view of the capture the feeding area and the chicken will be properly

monitored. One of the important thing is that the cage is properly lightened so the surveillance will

capture high quality images of the chickens.
