RAD 1500-Quality Assurance Assignment 2

In groups of 4-5 you will compile the necessary information for comprehensive quality assurance
manual.

The manual should include:

1. Name of a Dental Practice:

 Employees- with job descriptions
 Define HARP and ALARA- explain how this is incorporated in your Dental Practice
 A mission Statement.

2. Quality Administration Duties:

 Daily = Equipment checks, processing solutions, step wedge, stocking up, number and types
of radiographs exposed on which clients
 Monthly = Darkroom and Safelight
 Yearly = Dental X Ray equipment Check

(Assign members of your staff with one or more of these duties)

*Have a page explaining how each of these duties is performed- so that any new or existing employee
can take over or understand.

*Waste Disposal = Who’s responsible, and how are things disposed on a daily, weekly and Monthly
Basis?

3. Have a Quality Assurance Test Log/charts:

 Daily = Equipment check, Solution temperature and top up, Step Wedge Test- Initials of
person responsible for specific test beside it
 Monthly = Darkroom- Light tight Test, Safelight Coin test – Initials of who is responsible for
specific test.
 Yearly = Output, Collimation, Beam alignment Calibration, Half Value layer etc.

4. Daily Log of Radiographs exposed: Date, Clients name, Radiographer, Number and type of
radiographs exposed.

5. Last page of Contacts for:

Repairs, Radiographic Equipment checks and repairs (X Ray Technician), Suppliers and Waste
disposal.
