POSITION SUMMARY
The position requires excellent communication skills that include oral, written and presentation skills. Must be able to

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Planning, developing, coordinating implementing and evaluating training programs and services
 Provide training (classroom, learning lab, field training) for child welfare staff consistent with the Southern Region’s
system of care.
 Coordinate qualified trainers to deliver required training and professional development programs
 Apply principles of a competency-based training system
 Apply principles of adult learning
 Develop and utilize a variety of training delivery strategies
 Include culturally relevant information in training and facilitate discussion about culture and diversity.
 Utilize a variety of transfer of learning activities to help learners apply knowledge and skills to their specific job tasks.
 Manage group dynamics.
 Co-facilitate learning activities
 Conduct periodic reviews of curriculum in relation to its efficacy in development of trainee’s knowledge and skill in
demonstrating established child welfare competencies.
 Use technology to enhance learning.
 Develop and conduct learning activities in specific content areas or practice specialties.
 Maintains current knowledge of child welfare practices.
 Participate in feedback sessions with trainees and trainee’s agency supervisor/administrative staff.
 Fulfill responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
 Develop the pre-service training calendar and provide notices of training sessions, registration process, and training
requirements.
 Maintain the registration process for pre-service training.
 Maintain an attendance tracking and reporting system to the trainee’s supervisor and administrator.
 Train OK personnel on the registration and attendance reporting process to serve as a “back up”.
 Work in partnership with City of Miami Police Training Center
 Coordinate facility needs to deliver training @ Miami Police Training Center, including all materials required.
 Maintain the student manual.
 Develop and implement a process to communicate with the trainee’s supervisor and administrator weekly regarding the
trainee’s performance.
 Develop and implement a process to track certification as required.

EXPERIENCE/PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, skills and abilities):

To qualify for the position of Trainer Coordinator, a candidate should have:

 Excellent leadership qualities which include the ability to collaborate and work effectively with all levels of the system of
care. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
 Ability to organize time and work effectively.
 Strong analytical skills and the ability to exercise good judgment. This position also requires strong motivation,
initiative, attention to detail, and a friendly and customer focused attitude.
 Must have specialized and progressively responsible experience in training and development.
 Specialized experience includes experience in the development, facilitation and presentation of training programs. The
successful candidate must possess extensive knowledge of adult learning theories, needs assessment techniques,
evaluation of training and development programs, career development theories, and appropriate use of a variety of
training methods.
 Direct service and management experience in child welfare preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS


 Possess a current Background Clearance Screening Letter as required by DCF.
 If local travel is required, a Valid Florida driver’s license and documentation of current automobile insurance is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT


Employee will work in an office/clerical environment. The employee will work predominantly seated with recurrent need to walk, stand, and
bend from the waist. Occasional light lifting, stooping, and climbing may be required. Occasional local travel.
