This Indian Standard (Fourth Revision) which is identical with ISO 11949:1995 ‘Cold-reduced electrolytic
tinplate’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau
of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Wrought Steel Products Sectional Committee and
approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This Indian Standard was originally published in 1962 and subsequently revised in 1974, 1982 and
1993. This revision of the standard has been taken up to align it with ISO 11949:1995 by adoption
under dual numbering system.

With the publication of this revision, following Indian Standards will be superseded:
