A short simplistic explaination of Galactic History from start to the most recent finish

WILLING TO EVER CLAIM IT IS COMPLETE AND IT WILL NEVER BE.

(This is taken from both Canon and Legends(which isnt 200% canon)

Pre-Historic Era
(A lot of millenia before the Old Republic Era)

This Era is when the Galaxy itself was made, forming around a black
hole in the middle of it.

As the Galaxy was forming, another instance was given birth to by

the Wellspring of Life, the Midi-chlorians, which were microscopic
symbiotic organisms that allows living beings to use the energy field
 known as the Force and connects the Living Force to the Cosmic
Force.
The Wellspring of Life, also known simply as the Force planet, was one of many such nexuses of power that
manifested in the depths of the galaxy.

The Wellspring was powerful in the light side of the Force and were speculated to be the source of all life. It
was not marked on any star map and had no official name. The planet was surrounded by a bright nebula.
Upon reaching the surface, it appeared barren, save for luminescent geysers that shot out energy from
inside the planet. Below the surface were floating islands, covered in plant life and immersed in the Force.

After that, three keepers of Balance were born,

The Father, The Daughter and the Son.

The Son was the living being of the Dark, while the Daughter was the
equivalent of Light, with the Father controlling them, bringing them to
Balance.
During the Clone Wars, the Father guided Anakin Skywalker to Mortis in order to test the Jedi
Knight's abilities and concluded that he was indeed the Chosen One destined to bring balance to
the Force. Skywalker declined the Father's invitation to remain on Mortis, however. Moreover, the
machinations of the Son ultimately resulted in the destruction of both himself and his family. Near
death, the Father divined that one day Skywalker would fulfill his destiny.

Bellow is everything Pre-Historic planet and species-wise,I have underlined most of the important
stuff in it if you are too bored to look through all of them, though I do recommend taking a look, as
there's no doubt you'll find it useful somewhere in your TJO Career.

The first star in the Cularin system, named Morasil, is formed.

c. 5,000,000,000 BBY

Korriban is formed.

The Yavin system is formed.

 c. 2,000,000,000 BBY

The Oseon system is formed. A rogue star is believed to have passed too close
to the system, disrupting the planet formation and creating an abnormally large
asteroid belt.

Volcanic activity on Esseles begins to end.

c. 7,500,000 BBY

First sentient species in the galaxy begin to evolve.

c. 4,000,000 BBY

The Valley of the Giant Oysters on Dac begins to form.

c. 3,000,000 BBY

An asteroid collides with the planet Vinsoth, killing most life on its surface. The
remaining survivors evolve into the Chevin.

c. 2,006,200 BBY

The Columi first evolve.

 c. 2,004,200 BBY

The Columi take to trees and begin to develop for arboreal life.

c. 2,002,200 BBY

The Columi learn to use tools.

c. 2,002,000 BBY

The Columi, with their newly acquired skill of mining for minerals, begin building
tree spanning cities.

c. 2,000,000 BBY

The Columi achieve interstellar travel.

Wookiees begin to evolve on Kashyyyk.

Beggar's Canyon is formed on Tatooine.

Sullustans evolve underground on Sullust.

The Pelgrin construct their Oracle.

c. 1,000,000 BBY

Feeling threatened by the Celestials, the Sharu go underground and hide their
cities in order to protect themselves.

The Corellian system is presumably formed by the Architects.

 The Hutts leave Varl and settle on the planet they dub Nal Hutta.

The Bith undergo a terrible war.

According to Dr. Corellia Antilles, by this time, most sentient species have begun
keeping historical records, though at least some of those records prove
indecipherable to modern historians.

Sernpidal takes Dobido as its moon.

c. 750,000 BBY

Goroth begins to develop intelligent life.

c. 500,000 BBY

The Devaronians achieve space travel.

Naboo undergoes an ice age.

The Gree evolve.

c. 300,000 BBY

The Gree civilization enters its golden age.

 c. 200,000 BBY

The Taungs of Coruscant attempt to conquer the 13 baseline Human nations of

the Battalions of Zhell.

A volcano on Coruscant erupts, decimating the Zhell.

The Taung flee to the planet Roon.

c. 130,000 BBY

Sith society begins.

c. 100,000 BBY

The planet Coruscant is now covered entirely by its principal city, later known as
Galactic City.

The Sith race begins to develop their culture and civilization on the planet
Korriban.

The Columi survey Coruscant and Duro, dismissing them as "primitive"

disappointments.

The Kwa construct the Infinity Gate and the Star Temples on Dathomir.

Civilization on Goroth begins with an agricultural society.

c. 95,000 BBY

The last time the lower levels of Coruscant reportedly see sunlight.

c. 57,000 BBY

Utapau is colonized by humanoid species that would later evolve into the Pau'an
and Utai species.

c. 50,000 BBY

The Gree develop hypergates.

c. 49,000 BBY

The Rakata develop a special form of hyperdrive.

c. 40,000 BBY

Felucia is colonized by the Gossam.

 The civilization on Garos IV is wiped out by a groundquake.

c. 36,453 BBY

Philosophers and scientists from several star systems gather on Tython to share
mystical knowledge. The Force is discovered.

c. 35,000 BBY

The Castle Lands of Oroboro are built by the Killiks on Alderaan.

The Infinite Empire of the Rakata is officially established.

c. 30,000 BBY

The Infinite Empire reaches its peak and constructs the Star Forge.

The Killiks are driven from Alderaan and Alsakan.

The Sith King Adas unifies the Sith nations on Korriban.

c. 29,000 BBY

The Kashi Mer Dynasty reaches its height.

c. 27,700 BBY

The Rakata arrive on Korriban. Adas leads the Sith to victory over the alien
invaders but is killed in the process.

c. 27,500 BBY

The first Human colonists land on Alderaan.

c. 27,000 BBY

Human colonists first arrive in the Tion Cluster.

c. 26,000 BBY

The Morodins colonize Varonat.

The Library of Xer is built on Criton's Point.

The Cult of M'dweshuu is formed on the Nikto homeworld of Kintan.

Alsakan is colonized by Humans from Coruscant in the colony ship, Kuat

Explorer.

Several Tythonian scolars begin to use their knowledge of the Force to pursue
power. A conflict ensures which destroys Tython.

(Force Wars)

c. 25,200 BBY

A Major plague sweeps through the galaxy that kills only Rakata. As a result of
this, twinned with subject species rebellions, the Infinite Empire collapses.

The Kitel Phard dynasty is founded on Atrisia.

25,180 BBY

The Verpine colonize the Roche asteroid field.

c. 25,130 BBY

The reign of Xim the Despot begins.

c. 25,105 BBY

The Battle of Ko Vari and the First Battle of Vontor are fought between the Hutt
Empire and the empire of Xim the Despot.

c. 25,100 BBY

Both the Second and Third Battles of Vontor are fought between the Hutts and
Xim the Despot.

According to Tionese history, Xim the Despot is killed at Vontor, but he is actually
captured and later dies as a slave in the dungeons of Kossak on Evocar.

The Treaty of Vontor is signed.

The Hutts gain control of the Si'Klaata Cluster.

Old Republic Era

Old Republic is formed, the first Galactic Government that existed prior to the establishment of the
Galactic Republic, thousands of years before the Clone Wars.

Capital: Coruscant
Jedi Knights establish a school on Ossus.
The Perlemian Trade Route is founded, linking Coruscant with Ossus.
24,953 BBY
The Jedi Order swears loyalty to the Republic.
c. 24,500 BBY
The first war between the Jedi occurs, when some of their number are drawn to
the dark side of the Force, forming the Legions of Lettow.
This category is for Force-sensitive individuals who abandoned the teachings of the Jedi Order in favor of
Xendor's focus on the Bogan at his academy on Lettow.

c. 24,000 BBY
The Tionese War is fought between the Galactic Republic and the Honorable
Union of Desevro & Tion.
Mandalore the First founds the Mandalorian crusaders, and begins the planetary
conquest.
 c. 23,900 BBY
The former worlds of the Union, (with the exception of Desevro), join the Galactic
Republic as a member sector with Tion as the capital.
c. 22,000 BBY
The planet Nubia is settled.
c. 20,100 BBY
The Inner Rim is settled.
20,000 BBY
The Galactic Republic's Great Manifest Period begins.
c. 18,000 BBY
Bureau of Ships and Services is created.

Haruun Kal is colonized for the first time.

Yablari joins the Galactic Republic.
Ando joins the Republic.
The Aquala and the Quara fight in a civil war.

The slave trade becomes an everyday part of life on Ryloth.

Ord Mantell is colonized by Corellian colonists as an advanced military outpost
for the Republic.
The Pius Dea Crusades begin.
The Pius Dea were a prominent religious sect with humanocentric and militaristic tendencies that emerged
in the centuries prior to 12,000 BBY. They installed one of their own—Contispex I—as Supreme Chancellor,
gaining effective control of the Republic government and military. Having neutralized the unpopular Hutts,
the sect unleashed a series of military crusades and inquisitions against rival alien sects over the following
centuries.

The Galactic Museum is established on Coruscant.

This museum contained various artifacts and relics from thousands of different cultures; both still living and
those that were long lost. The body's membership consisted of teams of anthropologists, librarians,
scientists, historians and archaeologists all of whom were dedicated for the quest for knowledge.

The Twelve Kingdoms Era in the Tapani Sector begins.
11,500 BBY
Female Jedi Knight Halbret brings together a contingent of Jedi Knights to defeat
a powerful Dark Jedi who has enslaved the Kathol species.
11,000 BBY
End of the Pius Dea Crusades.

Lightsabers are invented.

The lightsaber, sometimes referred to as a laser sword, is a weapon used by the Jedi, the Sith, and other
Force-sensitives. Lightsabers consist of a plasma blade, powered by a kyber crystal, that is emitted from a
usually metal hilt and can be shut off at will. It is a weapon that required skill and training, and is greatly
enhanced when used in conjunction with the Force.

Goroth Prime joins the Galactic Republic.

exiled from the Jedi Order.

The Jedi attack the Sith temple on Malachor, (a pyramidal temple on the bleak world of
Malachor. The infernal machine at the heart of the Sith temple, a superweapon powered by a giant kyber
in the Great Scourge of Malachor, and battle the
crystal, was capable of destroying life.)
Sith. All participants are petrified.

The Second Great Schism occurs, and the Hundred-Year Darkness begins.

A prophecy tells of a Chosen One who will bring "balance to the Force".
According to legend, the Mandalorian Crusaders were formed on the planet
Mandalore by the Taung, Mandalore the First.
6,997 BBY
Mrlsst joins the Galactic Republic.
c. 6,900 BBY
End of the Hundred-Year Darkness.
The Dark Jedi lose the war at the Battle of Corbos, and the survivors are exiled
from the Republic.
The Dark Jedi found the Sith Empire, starting in Korriban, which remains
unknown to rest of the galaxy for almost two thousand years.
 Middle Era of the Old Republic

Prior to c. 6021 BBY

The Sith Empire is founded.
c. 6021 BBY
Through the use of slavery, the Sith build an empire that spans the galaxy,
beginning a brief period of galactic dominance.

The Mandalorian-Jedi War occurs

The Mandalorian Wars was the term given to the sixteen years of conflict between the Mandalorian warrior
culture and the Galactic Republic that began in 3976 BBY with the Battle of Althir.

Led by Mandalore the Ultimate, who pioneered the Neo-Crusader movement with the help of his lieutenant,
Cassus Fett, the Mandalorians conquered systems along the eastern edge of the galaxy.

The Four Masters construct the Jedi Temple atop the ruins of the Sith shrine on
Coruscant.

The Lothal Calendar is introduced.
The Lothal Calendar was a calendar used on the planet of Lothal, in the Outer Rim Territories. It used the LY
("Lothal Year") notation.

c. 2000 BBY
The Dagoyan Order took hold of Bardotta after a series of successful and
strategic small-scale wars.
Prior to 1032 BBY
A battle is fought on Takodana between the Jedi and the Sith (at least 1,000
years).
The galaxy enters the Dark age.
 The Jedi–Sith war is waged.
Coruscant and the Jedi Temple are occupied during the Battle of Coruscant.
Coruscant and the Jedi Temple are reclaimed during the Liberation of Coruscant.

The Sith are defeated by the Jedi and are driven into hiding.
The Old Republic collapses.
Mandalorians of House Vizsla sneak into the Jedi Temple and liberate the
Darksaber.
Darth Bane establishes the Rule of Two.
The Rule of Two was a Sith philosophy mandating that only two Sith Lords could exist at any given time: a
master to embody the power of the dark side of the Force, and an apprentice to crave it. The philosophy of
two governed the Lords of the Sith for a millennium, beginning with its founder Darth Bane.

Republic Era

1032 BBY
Several solar systems unite and found the Galactic Republic.
1019 BBY
The Yavin Code is established at the Yavin Convention.
 The code dictated the treatment of prisoners. One of the terms of the code was that prisoners had to be
blindfolded prior to execution. Prior to his scheduled execution by General Grievous on a Separatist supply
ship, Obi-Wan Kenobi told the battle droids escorting him to the execution room of the code, stalling for time
before Anakin Skywalker rescued him.

Yoda is born on an unknown planet.

The Citadel is built to imprison rogue Jedi.

Yoda begins to train Jedi in the ways of the Force.

Dooku is born.

The capture of Theed occurs.
The duel on Tatooine occurs.
Battle of Naboo.
Queen Padmé Amidala returns to Naboo and forms an alliance between the Naboo and Gungans. The
Gungans engage the droid army while the Queen and her security force capture the leaders of the Trade
Federation. Qui-Gon Jinn is killed by Darth Maul, who, in turn, is cut in half by Obi-Wan Kenobi but survives.
Daultay Dofine is killed when the Droid Control Ship is destroyed by Anakin Skywalker.

Senator Sheev Palpatine is elected Supreme Chancellor of the Republic,

replacing Finis Valorum.
The Jedi High Council promotes Obi-Wan Kenobi to the rank of Jedi Knight and
permits him to train Anakin Skywalker as a Jedi.

The Clone Wars begin with the Battle of Geonosis. Jango Fett kills Coleman
Trebor. Mace Windu kills Jango Fett in the fighting and many Jedi are killed in an
attempt to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Padmé Amidala from
execution.
Mace Windu brings a Jedi strike force consisting of himself, Kit Fisto, Prosset
Dibs, and Rissa Mano go to the planet Hissrich to stop a Separatist mining
operation.
A fair ammount of battles occur.

Anakin Skywalker is anointed Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith.

himself Galactic Emperor.
