Access the Read Only Environment


In the event that MiChart is down, and your downtime communications tells you that Supports Read Only (SRO) is
available, follow these instructions to access SRO:

1. Log out of MiChart, then log back into MiChart as normal.


▪▪ MiChart will now display all screens as Read Only.

A. You will see Shadow displayed in the Hyperspace bar at the top of the screen.
B. Shadow will also display in the Epic toolbar.
• All data displayed is current up to the point the downtime occurred.
• Data cannot be updated during downtime.
• Supports Read Only (SRO) can also be accessed through the VPN but it cannot be accessed through Haiku and
Canto.
• Access to the In Basket is not available during downtime.
• The option to print screens will remain available from the read only environment.

Schedule and Patient List Activities


You can access the Schedule and Patient List activities from the Epic toolbar.

Patient Reports
You can view the Patient reports from the Patient List or Summary activity within a chart.

1. Open the Patient List activity.

2. Single-click a patient’s row.


3. Select a report to view.
▪▪ Data displayed is current up to the point the downtime occurred.

Patient Summary
1. Open the patient’s chart.

2. Select the Patient Summary activity.


3. Select a report to view.

MAR
The MAR will be available in a Read Only format.

A. If you select an administration time, you will see an alert stating that it is only available as read-only.

Post-downtime
After you’ve received notification that downtime is over:

• Log out of MiChart to log out of Supports Read Only.


• Log into MiChart again to access the live environment.
• Follow your area’s procedures for entering data from the downtime into the patient record.
