I.Introduction

A strong nation is built on the strong moral fiber of its citizenry. This is my
realization after teaching Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao ( ESP ) to my pupils for quite
sometime now.

As a teacher , I have realized the importance of this subject to every pupil. It is

a subject that should not be overlooked or taken for granted not only because it is
part and parcel of the curriculum but more so because it is a subject that builds the
character of every learner. And we all know that character is what is left when
everything else is forgotten.

ESP or otherwise known as Edukasyon ng Pagpapahalaga or Values Education

is part of the core subjects that are being taught to both the elementary and
secondary schools. It is given the same weight as that of the major subjects such as
English, Science or Math. It is a subject that teaches values and virtues. And with the
K to 12 Curriculum, this subject has been totally revamped to cover subject areas
touching ethics and morality. It is a subject that equips individuals with the
necessary prudence and moral responsibility, necessary to guide each individual in
making life decisions. It is as important as Math, Science or English because it
pertains to the practicality of life. It deals with attitude , of good morals and right
conduct, of right values and virtues to live by. More importantly, it develops and
instills the core values of Maka- Diyos, Maka- Tao, Maka- kalikasan and Maka- bansa
in the hearts of every Filipino.

The government through the Department of Education recognizes the

necessity of producing morally upright citizens.

With this subject on ESP, we envision every Filipino to be morally upright . If

properly taught at school and reinforced at home , ESP would indeed produce
citizens who are of Maka-Diyos, Maka-Tao, Maka-kalikasan and Maka-Bansa. This is
the utopia that we hope to achive. It may seem an elusive vision of DepEd . But one
life that is touched through ESP men a big, big difference.

II. Activities

Prayers
Before the Flag Raising Ceremony. Teachers together with the pupils begin the
day with prayers. Praise Him, thank Him, ask forgiveness and guidance to enlighten
our minds.

Every Monday teacher will explain and give examples of good moral / attitude .

Faith (Ash Wednesday)

Mass is a thanksgiving celebration. As a catholic, it is our obligation to attend
Ash Wednesday Mass. It is on a school day (February 14) so we invited the Eucharistic
Ministers of the Holy Communion in our school with the approval of our parish Priest
Father Melvin Castro to give our pupils the privileged to receive God’s grace by putting
ash on forehead of every catholic people (remind as to “turn from sin and believe to
the Gospel”).

Awarding of Monthly Value Cluster

During Quarterly Recognition teachers for every grade level and section give
awards to their respective pupils who deserves the said awards.

III. Summary

Putting yourself in the shoes of another is the real essence of Pagpapakatao.

TRAINING PROPOSAL
I. Title of Training: UPDATING OF SCHOOL AND PERSONAL DATA ONLINE (LIS, EBEIS, EHRIS)

II. BACKGROUND/RATIONALE

The Learners’ Information System (LIS) is envisioned to allow the Department of Education
to better track its students so that more appropriate interventions can be formulated for them. For
instance, students who transfer from one school to another can be monitored and better assisted by
using data from the LIS.
EHRIS is an Open Source Human Resource Management Software, ideally providing
Employee Management, Performance Appraisal, Feed forward, Recruitment Process, Leave
Management, Background Check, Announcements, Analytics and Logs. It enables the
administrators to configure the standards used in the organization such as currency codes, date
formats, ethnic codes, etc. The software also meets the employee's everyday needs like Leave
Management, Performance Appraisal etc... It tracks existing employee data which traditionally
includes personal history, skills, capabilities and accomplishments.
This self-service module is a first of a suite of facilities that will automate routine Human
Resource transactions such as leave application, time and attendance, payroll, personnel action,
etc. While initially launched here at the central office, this module will eventually be launched
nationwide to establish updated registry of DepEd personnel. This module is a component of the
Enterprise Human Resource Information System (EHRIS) that is being supported by BEST through
the development of the Unified Information System (UIS).

III. TRAINING OBJECTIVES

The training is design for the teachers to update the school and the personal data online thru LIS,
