Summertime is one of the times of the year that travelers such as myself look forward to with the

eagerness of a five-year-old. Summer is the perfect time for beach hopping and frolicking in the
blue waters, that is why a lot of sun worshippers are looking for beaches near Metro Manila. In
this post, I listed down 14 Amazing beaches in Batangas that you should visit this summer:

Isla Verde, or Verde Island - Brgy. Ilijan, Batangas City

Batangas Beaches are becoming a common tourist hotspot as of late, but Isla Verde, or Verde
Island of Batangas, is one of the few beaches in the province that has not been overly developed
yet. This feature is what made it a part of my bucket list. Unlike most beaches, however, Verde
Island has rockier shorelines. With that said, that means the best beach activity for this island
paradise is snorkeling and diving into the farther outskirts of its waters.

There is only ONE boat service going TO Isla Verde each day. It leaves Tabangao Aplaya
at about 9am. DO NOT Miss the boat. Arrive Early.

There is also only ONE boat service back FROM Isla Verde each day. The boat leaves from
the resort at Isla Verde at about 4am.

The owners of our usual carrier, the St. Paul, are building a new boat. Until it is completed, our
guests will be sailing to Isla on the Super Mario.
Once you are at the beach area, Please ask for Nonoy or Konsehal Vicson. Tell the boat
crew you are going to Tita Jo. The boat fare is 120 pesos per person each way. You will be
shown where to wait and told when the boat is ready to board.
Most times the crew will be expecting you, and they will take you ashore right at at the resort.

To get to Isla Verde by Bus and Boat.

Buses leave the Metro Manila terminals (Buendia Taft ave. Pasay, Jam transit, BLTB, Ceres)
usually every 30 minutes to an hour apart. Take a bus that goes to Batangas Grand Terminal
SLEX.

To arrive in time to catch the boat to Isla Verde, you will need to leave Metro Manila about
4.00am or 5.00am. That should get you to Batangas City Grand Terminal around 6.30am to
7.30am

Travel time is about 1.5 to 2 hours and fare is around PHP 160 pesos from Pasay to Batangas
City.
When you arrive at Batangas City Grand Terminal, find a tricycle and ask the driver to take you
to Tabangao Aplaya. Tricycle cost is about PHP 350 pesos and takes about 30-45 minutes. A
tricycle can usually take up to 3 passengers.

If you prefer to go by jeepney, take a jeepney to Bagong palengke, bayan then look for another
jeepney with the signboard that says it is going to Tabangao. Tell the driver you need to be
dropped off at Tabangao Aplaya for the boat.

To get to Isla Verde by Car and Boat.

If you are taking your private car from Manila take the SLEX and exit to star tollways Batangas
city Take the STAR to the Batangas exit and head towards Batangas city.

Then take Balagtas road. You will pass Don Carlos. After Don Carlos, the road is one way. Turn
left before the gate of Capitolyo with sign board to SM and continue until you see the stop light
at the corner with the 7-11 store.

Turn right. You will pass Libjo, Arambulong, Malampaya plant. After the the plant the road
curves. Slow down and look for the Jeepney Terminal and General milling factory.

There is an access road to Aplaya here. Turn Right here and follow until you get to the beach
area, then park your car and look for kuya Ramil or kuya Omar and tell the crew you are going to
Tita Jo on Isla Verde.

Travel time to Aplaya from Manila can be 2.5 to 3 hours or more. Make sure you arrive at
Tabangao Aplaya by 8.00am to have time to unload, park your car and board the vessel. Don't be
late - they will not wait.

PARKING at Aplaya.

When you get to Aplaya, look for Jason. He will arrange parking for your car and show you
where to find kuya Ramil or kuya Omar. Parking will cost 100 pesos per day.

Fortune Island

There is a belief that Fortune Island hid a trove of treasures in the earlier days. It was when a
group of archaeologists unearthed this treasure when the island was given its name, Fortune
Island—because it hid a fortune. But whether or not the myth is real, it is no doubt that today,
Fortune Island still makes all of its visitors fortunate. Beautiful blue waters, pale sands, and
rocky geologic wonders that hold ancient European pillars are just some of the few things that
one could expect from this island.

How to Get to Fortune Island

Catch a bus or van from Buendia, Cubao, Coastal Mall or Alabang to Nasugbu or Calatagan and
get off at Nasugbu Terminal. Travel time is two to three hours, fare ranges from P130 to P160.
At Nasugbu Terminal, transfer to a tricycle to Barangay Wawa. Travel time is around 10
minutes, fare is P10 per person or P50 per trike.

Boats to Fortune Island are docked at Barangay Wawa, travel time is approximately one to 1.5
hours, boat rate ranges from P3,500 to P4,000 on a day trip, good for 10 persons. No need for
advanced reservation as there are lots of boats there.

How to Get There

By Public Transportation
1. Take the bus from Manila to Nasugbu, Batangas.

There are several bus companies with direct route to Nasugbu:

DLTB (Buendia Taft Ave corner Sen. Gil Puyat)
San Agustin Bus Line (Cubao)

Travel time: around 4 hours (depending on the traffic)

Fare: Php168

Tell the driver to drop you off Jollibee-Nasugbu.

2. Ride a tricycle to Fortune Island Resort in Brgy Wawa.

Fare: Php10-P15 per person

3. At Fortune Island Resort, pay entrance fee:

Day Trip: Php300

Overnight/Camping: Php400

4. From Fortune Island Resort (mainland), rent a boat going to Fortune Island.

Travel Time: 1 to 1.5 hour

Day Trip: Php3000 (5-10 pax) / Php4500 (10+ pax)
Overnight/Camping: Php4500 (5-10 pax) / Php6000 (10+ pax)
You can find boats for hire outside the resort at a cheaper rate. For example, we found one for
only P2500.

By Private Car
 Via Cavitex: Head to Governor’s Road, and then continue onto Nasugbu -Ternate Highway until
you reach Nasugbu. You will see Jollibee, and then make a right turn to C. Alvares Street. Keep
on driving straight until you reach Apacible Blvd, onto which you will make a right turn. Just stay
on that road and you’ll reach Fortune Island Resort.
 Via SLEX: Exit to Sta Rosa, and then turn right. Continue onto Tagaytay-Sta Rosa Road. From
Tagaytay, continue onto Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway until you reach Palico. Make a right turn to
Palico-Nasugbu Highway. At the end of Palico-Nasugbu Highway, make a right turn. Continue
driving until you reach Nasugbu town proper. Make a right turn to C. Alvares Street, and
continue driving. Turn right to Apacible Blvd, and then continue driving until you find Fortune
Island Resort.

Anilao Beaches in Mabini

Mabini is a town on a peninsula. With that said, it’s expected that each edge on this peninsula is
a beach that has its own perks. One would never run out of spots to hang out in here in Mabini’s

Another must-see beach island in Tingloy, Batangas is Sombrero Island. The island got its name
from its extremely unique shape. Sombrero is a Filipino term that means hat, and Sombrero
Island looks exactly like a hat. If you’re yearning for a secluded beach experience, Sombrero
Island is the place to go. This well-endowed island has white sands and is ideal for snorkeling,
diving, and swimming. Just remember to be careful with the sharp barnacles in some of the rocky
parts of the island.

Sepoc Island

The island got its name from the abundance of Sepoc trees on the island. It is rumored that Sepoc

Masasa Beach

Masasa Beach is located in the Southern part of Tingloy. The town of Tingloy is also known for
its beautiful dive spots and is found within a protected coral triangle. Masasa Beach’s winning
features is that it’s a public island and people may camp out here for free! That is why if you’re

Nasugbu beaches
